Anxious to get home to meet the guy for some quotes. As soon as he leaves though I have to take a 20 minute trip to pickup the garage cabinet I ordered and the TV.

Your TV does not support Dolby Vision and that model is approaching 9 years-old. 4K TVs have improved vastly since then while also being much more affordable. I would definitely upgrade if you can afford it.

I love Dolby Vision.....and the Atmos audio that goes with it.

My player glitched out the other day and did not play my film in Dolby Vision. I knew it came with DV. Thankfully a power cycle rectified the issue. Probably some sort of handshake problem. It sucks when we get a nice DV release and no Atmos.

Disney loves to keep Star Wars DV content exclusive to their streaming service. Hopefully they’ll change their tune soon.

My brother has a projector at his house watch movies
Yes I know need get one just not sure when since tv still working

It's only top of entertainment center btw

I could ask new tv next month instead movies in don't know

sfmarine, your posts about the problems with the squirrels has made me think of a memorable television advert that aired here a few decades ago. The Mission: Impossible theme tune was played in the background and showed a squirrel navigating an obstacle course in a garden (memory is a bit rusty, but there was definitely a squirrel in it).

Samsung TVs do not support Dolby Vision.

If you want better recommendations tell people your budget and what screen sizes you are interested in. Do you watch in a room that is mostly bright or mostly dark or a mix of both?

Sitting here thinking about the next chapter in my life. This post is a bit long, so bear with me.....

Tomorrow......I am going with my girlfriend to look at.......engagement/wedding rings.

Yep....at my age (I am 57), when you know what you want and that is the same thing as your partner.....there is no reason to take a lot of time and wait or plan some big wedding. We both have been married twice before and know what that is like. We plan to simply get engaged and go to a justice to make it official. We both agree that it makes no sense to spend lots of money for a wedding.....again, we both have been there and done that.

What is unconventional for us is my son lives with me. However, my girlfriend has major back and hip issues since a car accident over 30 years ago (she got hit from behind while at a stop at 26 years of age). Her current home (which was handed down to her from her family) has been accommodated for her (she can't do anything that compresses her spine)...which means she can't seel and move out of the house without some kind of major logistical planning. So.....the plan is for me to move in with her (she lives 30 minutes away). But that means another new school for my son's last 2 years of high school (we just moved here 2 years ago). He loves his current school and the hockey team he plays for...making lots of new friends. He has told me that he does not want to move again. Therefore, what my girlfriend suggested (and why I think she is so amazing

) is to get married, but not sell my house and live together until my son goes to college in a little over 2 years. Unconventional.....yes....but it works for all parties involved, and everyone is happy.

I will be splitting my time between her home and mine during those 2 years and I am OK with it.

At my age.....life is getting shorter and I want to live a happy and healthy life with a significant other....so no matter the road, if it takes me towards my goal, then I am going to enjoy the ride.

Get the cabinet, ditch the TV. You don't want a Mike and Ikes for a TV.

I don't have Dolby Vision. Not sure I'm missing much. It's my player that doesn't support it. Would love to get a better player, but I got to be sensible for once.

I've only gotten engaged once. I wouldn't rule it out either. It would definitely go better than the last engagement. We never ended up getting married. A suicide will do that. A suicide will do a lot of things.
