No idea about the quality (haven't been paid yet, but soon, then it will be mine...)

IMO it is worth picking up for Ley Lines alone. For the price and the fact you get the whole trilogy it's a no-brainer.

I would say that the overall quality of the Trilogy set is pretty similar to Arrow's Audition, and they're so much better than the rather disappointing Dark Water transfer.

Raising Cain should be shipping out soon, shouldn't it?

I have only seen the first film yet. A low-budget, violent, gritty and almost painfully realistic triad film. Some of the sexual violence felt gratuitious but that's par for the course with Miike. I can't say the slow pace didn't bore me at times and this is far from Fukasaku quality but as Miike's first true feature film it's decent enough.

I found the blu-ray serviceable but nothing more.

Heads up that Amazon are doing their BIGTHANKS thing again today - £10 off a £50 or more spend. Have ordered the House Collection (and La La Land steel) in the hopes that they pricematch HMV.

Ley Lines was great and I liked Rainy Dog as well. Haven't seen the first one in the trilogy though. Received the set yesterday with a neat slipcase and a double cover.

You're in for a treat, it's a great 80's action/adventure flick and one of the hidden gems in the Arrow (and Cannon for that matter) catalogue. Why it wasn't a massive hit we'll never know.

On a related note I'm glad Arrow have finally dumped the not legally required spine certificate logos.

Lol, in high school I claimed for the longest time that Kieslowski directed Runaway Train!

Surprised they're still including the booklet. Maybe just on the first 1000-1500, as with some of the Academy reissues?

Luckily I have the DF release so don't need to worry.

We knew at the time: as Variety warned when they reviewed it prior to release, this was a tough marketing proposition for Cannon to take on, as it needed more careful handling than their usual "shove it out in hundreds of screens, grab as much cash as possible and move onto the next Chuck Norris film" tactics. And they went on to do precisely what the Variety reviewer feared.

Agreed, I went into this (via the Arrow release) thinking this was gonna be a cheesy Canon flick, and that I'll probably watch once and shortly end up on ebay. I was wrong on both counts. Thought it was an incredible movie, and totally un-Cannon like.

I was going to post that

There's loads of them including some relatively recent stuff and a good smattering of Academy titles as well.

House and Phantasm price matched with HMV at amazon now, so £35 and £70. Obviously benefitting our international friends who can buy from amazon, get the VAT removed, and actually have it shipped to their country. And also benefitting me as I have Prime so they're my first choice

Are the only additions to the deluxe version the Vinyl and jigsaw puzzle? if so I guess that explains why they still have a few hundred copies left. I like the look of it (haven't seen the film yet) but £40 for the vinyl and puzzle is a lot to ask unless you're a mega fan.

As far as I know yes. The vinyl and puzzle are the only exclusives from that set.
