I've already got Roadhouse from VS so I think I'm good on that one. I have Pelham from Kino but I really enjoy that film so...

I already have the VS Roadhouse. What's different about the Arrow? Now Dark City is something I may get... Been ages since I've seen that one.

Yeah..I’ll be sticking with mine as well. Double checked and the VS release also came on a BD-100. I doubt it will be much of a difference.

I finally got around to watching Anora. I was curious what all the buzz was about considering it took Best Picture, Actress, Director and Screenplay. I went in blindly except for knowing it was about a sex worker who ends up getting involved with a rich Russian. I was not expecting a comedy, but it was often hilarious at times. I'll definitely be getting the Criterion release.

Not sure it was worthy of Best Picture but Mikey Madison killed it.

Not sure why everybody loves wide-screen so much. Normal people like me hate black bars . And if I can watch on zoom to cover black bars up I do. But some dvds r listed as wide screen but there's no black bars. When watching. I will always watch on full screen or zoom..if that's the options. Bc I hate black bars

Many people like seeing movies in their correct aspect ratio because that is how the director and cinematographer intended the movie to be seen. Movies come in many different aspect ratios, but modern TV screens only come in one: 16:9, which necessitates those black bars to preserve the intended presentation of movies that are in other aspect ratios. Altering the aspect ratio with the zoom function causes some of the intended image to not be visible.

People hating what you hate is no indicator of normalcy, either. I hate seafood, but I would never say that "normal" people share my hatred.

Most informed people prefer seeing movies in their correct aspect ratios, but of course we are all free to watch movies however we please.
