If there's any Pixar Steelbook fans near the Montreal area, note that at FS Lachenaie have some in stock.
Infos:
[Show spoiler]Les Galeries de Lanaudiere
790 Monte desPionniers
Lachenaie , Québec , J6V 1N9
Téléphone: (450)470-9636

They have in-stock 3 copies of each:
A bug's life at 29.99$ (on the picture, it's marked at 32.99$)
and
Wall-E at 34.99$
They also had Princess and the frog, Pirate 2 & 3 and a lot more. Also, a lot of price error (price advertised -10$...)

What I bought:
[Show spoiler]

I would love to get this titles but how did you get the BD less 10$ due to price error, was it SCOP? I thought they only applies to non-ticketed items.

There were A LOT of tickered BD with wrong price. I grabbed 12 BD (5 free) for 36.00 tx included

By example, I got The Departed, Steelbook edition that had a label at 19.99$, it scanned at 21.99, so I got it for 9.99$

I believe in Quebec it is any lower price (even stickered) and not just unstickered for SCOP like it is everywhere else.

Just out of curiosity:

1) What is SCOP?

2) How does it work.

I have seen some of you guys toss that acronym around in here but I have yet to understand what it really is. If someone could give me a rundown I'd highly appreciate it.

Thanks guys.

Maybe they were just introducing the policy at FS and BB when that article was written.

It appears to be in place now:

How I wish to be in Quebec right now. Mind posting the BD titles you got for 36$...

Default help

I think I understand this policy but help me out...

If I buy a blu at FS or BB and the sticker price says $29.99 and the register says $32.99 it doesn't apply because it was a stickered item? All I would get would be the $29.99 sticker price?

If I buy a bluray (no price on it) under a sign that reads $29.99 and the register says $32.99 then I get the $10 off?

The chance you'll find a Blu-ray with no price sticker AND a shelf price AND scan at a different price is very rare. They're one of the few things that usually always have a price sticker.

That's what I was thinking, not sure I've ever seen it! Was just wondering with all the posts about members who have been getting the nice price adjustments

the fact that they changed it to be non-sticked item is BS as the whole reason behind the SCOP was to supposively protect the customer...they have no insentive to fix the wrong prices on stickers anymore (or not as much as they used to anyways). Before the insentive was having to sell something for 10.00 less than sticker price (or free)...so it made sure they went back and fixed them ASAP...which protects customers from that point forward from thinking they got something for a certain price but having to pay a higher price and getting ripped off

no 10.00 off the price = less likely to fix right away if at all (they are more likely to forget the longer they take to do it) and the more people that could get ripped off

protect the customer? ya who cares about that. until i learned about the SCOP i never checked my purchases...now that i do they screw up a LOT and it tells me i used to get ripped of a LOT

It has ALWAYS applied solely to shelf tags, signs or labels, & never stickered items (I'm speaking other than Quebec).

What is it with you people? It's a friggin FORUM.. you have to READ. Besides, if all you're looking for are BB/FS sale prices you can check BB and FS' websites.

Now, save a dollar on every single one of the blu rays you have listed in your collection. $243. I mean, if you dont want that money, you can give it to me. I won't say no.

the rules are the same everywhere, the issue is that SCOP is Scanning Code of Practice.

In other words, anything with a sticker price where the person needs to enter the price does not qualify. Anything that scans and has no price clearly falls in it. The issue happens in between where something is scanned but has a price.

Also it is not if it shows up on the register higher but if you are charged that price.

You do have a point. I find it a tad annoying when people treat threads like their diary.

With that said, I think the off topic banter around here is what keeps it lively and fun. As long as people aren't clogging the threads with arguments about stupid shit.

I think a 'Post what you bought' thread could be a good way of dealing with this "problem'.
