I remember you leaving and I remember as I asked you not to. You eventually came back and took your own advice to ignore those who don't matter, and instead focus in on those threads and those people who you had things in common with. Good for you....we're glad you came back buddy!

I think some intervention and clarity is needed here.
I need to explain what happened because Todd (Bless his heart) was defending me! A while back when I first established my gallery, with receiving the kind words and kudos and accolades, JDFlex expressed in his comment that there was nothing special about my setup, he's seen much better. And all of the digital devices was overkill. He also said that the only thing decent about my system was the cable management. Oh yeah, he also gave me a "1" rating. Was I put off by it? Absolutely! For some of us, our setups are an extension of who we are, so I take a comment like that kind of personal. Well, my first inclination was to give his system a "1"! But that would have been very immature because, he has a very nice system and regardless of what he said, i gave him kudos and a 9 rating. I would have given him a 10, but I was a little miffed about what he said. I even posted a positive comment about his system, as if nothing ever happened. I did get a little nudge in there by saying, "But I've seen better also!"

Now, I have to tell you, another poster commented about DJflex's post and rating stating in a very polite way that my system deserved more than a 1.
I guess DJFlex felt a little guilt and changed "1" rating to an "8" and made sure I knew by posting the fact that he changed the rating. So to me, it's over and everything's good.

Well weeks pass and is now Todd is on the seen. And being Todd, he's getting to know everyone and getting acquainted and reading posts and viewing galleries. Well he happened to be perusing my gallery and came across DJFlex's comment. Well, being the guy Todd apparently is, if he has considered himself your friend, believe it, he will go thru the fire for you and defend you if it's warranted and just! Todd then posted me about DJFlex's comment and he wasn't happy about it! Well ironically, I had discovered over in the gallery section, that DJFlex had expressed to several members who owned various types of bluray players that they should GET RID of their current BDP player and buy the Oppo BDP-83 because it blows away everything else especially the Sony BDP-S550. He really had an attitude about the Sony for some reason. Now, everyone is entitled to an opinion. He likes the Oppo, fine! But there is this concept called manners! And that wasn't on DJ's priority list when emphasizing how the targeted posters should rid themselves of the all things of the bluray persuasion that is not an Oppo!

No doubt, the Oppo BDP-83 is the shi-nizzle! Great performance value yada, yada, yada.....but there is a way to suggest/inform/educate...if you know what I mean.

So I PM'd DJFlex, being that we've had some history, and I very politely and diplomatically expressed to him the art of persuasion and suggestion. Well he didn't like what I had to say and basically told me to mind my business. Now little did I know, while all of this was going on, Todd was fuming and probably sent the guy a PM, reading him the riot act about criticizing my setup.

I stayed professional and polite and tried to give him a different perspective on how his suggestion sounded. It did get ugly for a spell, but we came to an understanding and everything was cool again. He even deleted the original comment about how unspecial my system was. DJ sent me a very kind and apologetic PM about what he said and hope that we could be friends. I'm like, "Sure, it's all good!"

Meanwhile, Todd is boardering on furious because he doesn't like anyone messing with his friends! And I guess, he and DJFlex had a few exchanges which led to DJ referring to Todd as an @$sh*le!
Now there's something wrong with the time line because, I had posted in my gallery to DJFlex that he did not have to nor did I want him to delete his post regarding the deficiencies of my system. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and I valued his because I believe diversity is a stepping stone to understanding and learning and seeing another perspective. As a matter of fact, what some may have thought negative, I saw some positive and it was in an obscure way, a motivator for me to clean up my cable management.

I posted Todd explaining to him why I handled it the way that I did and for the most part, DJFlex is a nice guy. And although he may not post in the forum per se, but he does comment in the gallery section and it's usually positive input.
Todd saw the post and apologized to me this morning about the things he said to me earlier regarding his resenting DJFlex's statement. I told him that it was cool and I thanked him for being there for me.

Now what transpired after that, I have no idea and for Todd to want to leave the forum is totally unacceptable! He is the glue that keeps us together and the life source of Home Theater Galleries Section. Always positive, upbeat and gracious. And in no small part the reason why I spend most of my time here than over at AVSForums!
I've been trying to put the words together to express on how much he is appreciated around here. Todd, if you are reading this, YOU ARE BIGGER THAN THAT FIASCO! Your presense is not only wanted, it's expected!

It is like I had said, there is no bad guy here guys. It is a huge misunderstanding based on a poor timeline where Lawrence was taking care of the matter and Todd was trying to defend his friend's "honor" at the same time. I say this not to degrade or ridicule djflex, as that would not be justified in this scenario, and I think Lawrence agrees. I have tried to call Todd and he won't answer the phone. I will try again shortly, and try to persuade him to at least read this thread to show our genuine concern for him......

+1. I was reading back on previous posts and wasn't picking up on whatever was going down. Todd will/and has gone off when someone gets out of line especially to someone he considers a friend. I believe he has even done it a few times in my thread. I've had someone complain about posts between the same people and some other stuff when he should've just said hi and joined in the conversation. Not like any of us say 'don't post in my thread' to other members and this is an exclusive invite only club. There will always be *ssholes that come up from time to time. Best thing is to ignore it...move on...and if it is really out of hand contact a mod about things. Todd I hope you come back buddy as it will be a great loss for all of us not having you around. You are truly appreciated among most all on here and don't let one individual who is ignorant ruin things for you.

As you can see everyone want you back. I know you are a though fellow and I expect to see you chatting real soon.

If you remember a few people have left and came back or almost left. I was one of the almost that left.

I was attacked by someone who claimed I was lying about my break-in and this person went as far as to talk about it on another site. This other site I mentioned, I was on it, but I never really did anything but read or leave a little comment.

This person lives on the other side of the country and was talking mess, because I didn’t like a product he loved. I didn’t attack him; the item was just something that didn’t work for me.

As a matter of fact, the guy pissed me off to a point that I did go off on the product and I used words like “I could have said”, “but I didn’t say”. Even after my going off I thought it was dumb of me and I deleted the post and that same person just happen to copy and paste what I posted. He tried to make me look bad and I actually think he did a good job, because a few people stop chatting with me after that. The same people who love that product.

Bottom line, things like this happen or come up, but I don’t think you should leave your friends.

Maybe I shouldn’t say this part, but it’s rude to leave the people you know that care about you!! (please don’t misunderstand that statement)

Todd, buddy, sorry I have been away for the last few days, just catching up on the posts. Sorry to here about the things that have transpired. Please don't leave. I really appreciate your posts and your generosity and amazing knowledge you are so willing to provide when I or other members of this wonderful forum have questions. I am inspired by the wealth of knowledge you have and your willingness to share it. I am truly grateful for that!

Its tough sometimes to hear what others say. Like many have already stated, come back and let this pass under the bridge. I have just read almost 2 pages of wonderful posts on the intergrity, sincerity, kindness, and many other attributes you have been blessed with. Don't let one persons words deter you from friendships that I can see from the last several pages. Todd, we are all here for you, when the rough times come up to the celebrations we each have over the achievements in our setups/HT's, friendships, and personal ongoings each and every day.

You are one in a million, I mean that! I haven't been around long on the forum, we don't know each other that well, but thanks for your kindness, generosity, sincereity, and willingness to offer suggestions and help when needed. Cheers Todd!!

Well thie day went well and I decided to look at my Gallery and what did I see but 3 comments by this djflex or whomever this guy is.
Talking all kinds of crap and trying his best to belittle me.

And at the end of the comment he ended it with You're such an A$$H0LE.And there were 2 Blank spaces where he had also commented and deleted them.

I can be a Nice Guy and I can me a Nightmare.
I just happen to have a very long fuse.Well having to read all the crap this guy left on my gallery talking crap about me and then calling me an A$$H0le was all it took to light the fuse with the week I have already had.

Anyother day or week I wouldn't have even have sweated it.Just of all times its during a week that I am already having a terrible time of.

So my lesson is learned.And,I will put my gallery back this weekend. Here I spend the first of the week talking about how great the members here are,and I run into 1 of the very few Negatives of Blu-Ray.Com.

All I can say is I sincerely Hope,that this flex guy and myself dont cross paths anytime soon.

And when I found out ldgibson tolerated the comment I deleted mine out of respect to ldgibson and this flex charecter. But it seems he had left his comment sometime Thursday night,and I just didn't see it till Yesterday.

And I will agree with him saying my system doesn't have any high end parts,because it doesn't.
How could it.I live with my Parents and am on Social Security Disability.I make $1000.00 per month and insurance,doctors,prescriptions,and helping my parents with the bills leaves me around $100.00 a month(on a good month with no unexpected purchases).

But to start a week with your right contact lens getting destroyed(and I have to get an eye exam and pay for new contacts which my Insurance covers $0.00 of was a bad start,)
Then add a Migraine so severe I had to go to bed about 1 in the afternoon(and I still cant completely get rid of it)

then some otherthings I cant discuss happens(basically me taking things the wrong way)

Add in the fact I am turning 40 in a few days and haven't accomplished a single goal I planned for myself in life.

Then the one place I go that I enjoy I find that for doing what I thought was right,by sticking up for someone,led me to have this guy talk crap about me thru out the comment.

Personal stuff about myself and how I am a Hater and this and that.Only to see it end with the classic phrase that I am an A$$h0Le.Just set me off.

So,to All of my Friends I am Truly Sorry for handling things the way I did.It was best I took everything down and left for the night.If not I would have got myself banned for what I would have done.

So there was Never any point where we went back and forth with post or messges or anything else to that.And even now I have NEVER spoke to him or left him a Message at all.

So,other then sticking up for someone,thats ALL I did.Well I have said enough.I will put the galleries back up in time.Maybe after I make some of the additions and changes,I dont know.

But,I Sincerely Pray this week gets NO Worse then it already has been.If so I will probably lose it.
