Before the reissue I had only seen a few minutes of this movie on various movie channels and always heard good things. But when everyone on this site started making a huge amount of noise about the new release I decided to blind buy it from amazon.

One of the best movie buying decisions i've ever made. Absolutely loved Zodiac and it's one of my favorite crime movies ever.

This is showing as $1 on amazon for some reason.
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Zodiac-Blu-ray/61389/

Edit:The deal has gone again,it was obviously a mistake,I picked three for around the same price so we will see if it is fulfilled.

I bought 19 movies for $30

I doubt they will cancel the order. They must fulfill it...it's Amazon after all.

They most definitely do not have to fulfil it. They might but I'd say it's been about 50/50 with regards to my luck when it comes to pricing errors. This is a pretty big error on their part. If they honour it then they're actually being extremely generous.

At any point up until they charge and dispatch items both the buyer and Amazon can cancel an order. We as consumers have rights to cancel and they have rights to correct errors. Amazon do often wear the cost of errors but that's simply a gesture towards the customer, not something they have to do.

Well they all just shipped, so I guess they did.

I ordered 7 titles for between $1.00 and $1.75 and the order is "Shipping Now". Bargain! I just got it in in time. When I completed the order I checked the prices and they had already gone back up.

Default VC-1 vs. MPEG 4 AVC?

What is up with the International version being VC-1 and the U.S. MPEG4-AVC?

Read this forum as I'm in Australia, and I just popped my copy of Zodiac (I watched it 12 months back, thought it pretty damn good). Just got a big shock! VC-1 codec? Thought this was standard for Warner Bros movies so I thought nothing of it a year back... But the US has had an AVC transfer since 2009? What the...

As for the VC-1 transfer. The picture is a bit dark in parts and colours look muted. Overall, I was quite pleased with the transfer as there is a lot of clarity and fine detail abounds. Shots of San Francisco look fantastic. Was interesting to note that film at the beginning of the transfer (Warner Bros. logo) was full of scratches and dirt!

After reading the MPEG-4 AVC review, will have to pick up the US transfer... Maybe purchase it in October, next time I buy from Amazon US... When The Walking Dead Season 3 Limited Edition becomes available!
Zodiac is a great flick and definitely worth an upgrade to a higher quality transfer. The Seven Blu Ray transfer was fantastic. Does Fincher's work justice.

Think I answered my own question (Why VC-1 vs. AVC) through a bit of quick unintentional research.

I noticed Australia and other countries Zodiac releases were a year before the US release. The folks at WB International probably cranked out a VC-1 release and WB US said "Let's do it some justice. Pack it on 2 discs. Give it an AVC transfer, give the film room to breathe (31 Mbps vs. 19 Mbps). We can have extras in 1080 too!

The International version packs on a lot of audio and all the extras. I can see why the VC-1 transfer is so compressed compared to the AVC's 31+ Mbps.

^ Check the first post of the thread, all is explained regarding the original Paramount (US) vs. Warner Bros (international) versions.

Had the same experience with my UK release. I thought it looked fantastic (one of the best looking blu's Ive seen) but it had lossy sound and non-HD extras (only one disc).

Kept the nice slipbox and gave the amaray away. Got the US one and it looks a tiny bit better maybe but has HD sound and extras of course. Didnt pay much either so very happy!
