Watched Percy Jackson and Sea of Monsters tonight. I thought the movie was ok, people tend to dump on these movies and compare them to Harry Potter. They aren't as good as Harry Potter but they are solid entertainment. I also thought they did a good job with the 3D. I hope the franchise continues.

I would recommend it.

Today's haul...

Latest big 3-D title along with two of the classics:

2-D Blus got some love today too. Been on a bit of a Walter Hill kick lately since I picked up Hard Times and The Driver from Twilight Time (loved both flicks). The Warriors was a big deal when I was a young lad. It was kind of a cult thing around my school at the time and everyone talked about it. Look forward to seeing it in high def for the first time.

Some of the others are long overdue upgrades from DVD.

I watched The Avengers in preparation for Thor tommorow, and I am watching The Hole right now, which is an enjoyable little movie.

Borrowed Despicable Me 2 3-D from a co-worker who also has a nice little collection of 3-D Blu titles. We will be loaning our titles to each other. I think I enjoyed the sequel more than the first one! The 3-D plus Kristen Wiig seems to elevate the title to another level.

Lots of depth to this one and they saved some of the best pop outs until the closing credits! My wife and I were blown away by some of the 3-D in this movie.

Glad I borrowed this. I will be adding this one to my collection in the future. Next we plan to watch Oz The Great And Powerful 3-D which we borrowed.

I watched Despicable Me 2 last night as well and thought it was terrific. The movie looked great, really good use of 3D, excellent movie.

Just got a 3D TV last month with my taxes, building up a small collection of 3D movies so far...

Brave
I, Robot
Nightmare Before Christmas
Tangled
Wreck-It Ralph

... and it's not a Blu-Ray (I wish it was, but maybe I can double dip later.), but I got Frozen from vudu. Currently stuck watching Frozen and Tangled. Finish one, watch the other, wash, rinse, repeat.

You need Avatar and Pacific Rim. And if you are thinking kids movies, get Sammy's Tale part 1 on VUDU if that is still available.

The first two are definitely on the list of movies I'm looking to add to my collection (along with others such as Gravity, Life of Pi, Wolverine and a bunches of more Disney), though I'll have to look up that last one.

The last one is awesome 3D but the movie is for 7-8 year olds.

Disney is offering some 3D Blus using DMR. You can check those out.

Currently watching G.I. Joe Retaliation 3D right now ... always love that fight in the mountains in 3D (if you've seen that movie, you know what I'm talking about!)
