Even if Golden Age films had been anaglyphic, it'd still be well worth presenting them in true 3D. Sword of Granada and The Mask being fine examples of how good that can look. Unfortunately catalog films are all too often neglected.

Isn't some other company (Severin?) planning to release a 3-D movie on Blu-ray late this year?

We have Friday the 13th Part III, Dynasty (which I backed), and Wings of the Hawk right around the corner, but I believe there's a fourth unknown title, too, coming from I believe Severin, but it may be a different company. I wonder what that movie they're planning to release?

It's Vinegar Syndrome. And it's an 80's title.

I believe it's coming in November IIRC. @Steedeel would know for sure.

Good news regarding Friday the 13th Part III. The upcoming boxset will include 4K restorations of both the 2D and 3D versions of the film.

So, the schedule looks like this:

Oct. Friday the 13th Part III
Nov. Unknown 1980's 3-D film
Dec. Dynasty
Early 2021: Wings of the Hawk/Hypnotic Hick

As of now, a 3D release is still scheduled for November from VS. As for the title, the rumour is Silent Madness as VS mentioned that September-November would be all horror titles.

I’m excited about this as it will almost certainly be region free.

2021? Revenge of The Shogun Women (13 Golden Nuns) and the Bubble Redux.

Hoping that the missing footage has been found for RotSW. The 3DFA also owns as I recall the short 2 Guys from Tick Ridge and a full length 70s adult title so I guess those may get released sometime in the next few years.

Bob has said 4 or 5 more Golden Age only if Wings of the Hawk and Taza early sales are strong

Okay, who would be open to the idea of a film festival featuring all the titles (features and shorts) that probably won't make it to disc/streaming? Of course it would have to be after the pandemic is cleared (2022/2023?). Where should it be held? A central location such as Chicago making it easily accessible from either coast? What about overseas attendees?

I realize that the shows at the Egyptian were costly. Would a Kickstarter be enough (coupled with off the street attendees may be profitable?)

Not to be a wet blanket, but it will never happen.

Few are available on DCP and the owner of the 35mm left/right prints will never make them available.

Sorry about that!

Robert, another member mentioned that 3DFA have the rights to a x rated title. Is it possible you would approach Vinegar Syndrome about doing a team up?

Doubtful, both The Stewardesses and Nudie Cuties under-performed.

The only difference is The Stewardesses and Nudie Cuties are soft porn, The Starlets is hard core porn. I don't know if that would cause it to sell more or less discs.

The increased sales would be marginal.

As I said, this title is VERY low on the priority scale - unless some backer wants to send us a big fat advance!

Ha! The seller on Ebay for the $49.98 flat dvd says it's a romance!

VS sells movies that have no business being sold, including plenty of hardcore movies. The difference between them and Kino is night and day when it comes to target audiences. Different demographics. VS is known for exploitation and horror, along with direct to VHS stuff. Hell, some of their adult titles already sell for $70+ on the second hand market and are still in print other than the slipcover. Kino has a better catalog, but VS knows how to create demand and it understands its customer base and focuses on driving home the titles they want. Kino just churns out movies due to the size of its catalog, so it's basically just a bunch of random movies customers needs to figure out for themselves. VS is looked at as more of a tastemaker, so people blindly follow the guys lead for whatever reason. It explains how he manages to sell half the stuff he does

I wouldn’t say that the hardcore titles have no business being sold. They are time capsules of another time just like mainstream titles can be. I actually think the hardcore offerings have been of a consistently better quality than many of the horror or exploitation offerings.
Of course, Most 70’s and early 80’s erotica that is released is shot on film. The transfers are of a high standard and I’m very happy to own a great many of them.
