All I am saying is $27 is outrageous, to me at least. I did get it for $15 a year or two ago

I think I got a couple of them at that exact price and a couple for about two dollars more, or only one, but my copy of Maniac was another for which I paid 18 and it was also worth every penny. I tend to buy at 18 or 20, hence the excitement over MM II and Swinging Barmaids being 19.50 each in the sale package.

I placed my first Dark Force order, the Swinging Barmaids/MM II package and the Ultimate Drive-in Collection bundle. Of the drive-ins I only really wanted God's Bloody Acre and Cop Killers, but they were $52 purchased separately, or $60 for the bundle with the other three discs, so a bit of a no-brainer even though I'm doubling up on a few. I can always flip the duplicates at some point.
$11 flat rate shipping to the UK, and the order was shipped within the hour. So far so good. |

I received my order and scanned through my copies of Swinging Barmaids and Raven Dance, as I couldn't wait to see the picture quality. Now I can't wait to watch them.
SB looks really good, given age and a few little baby issues with the source, of the same type we often see, a tiny line here, a fleck there, that you can't remove without sort of scrubbing out all the detail on someone's face. The restoration looks as good as mondo digital said it did. Raven Dance looks amazing. I didn't expect it to look that good and I'm kind of surprised that it was stored well enough to not degrade. The sections I viewed were sharp where they should be and were only soft when it was meant to be, based on the way it was filmed. The exteriors, at times, reminded me of a couple of shots in The Omen, which had a brilliant and horrible restoration. There were scenes that failed to capture detail but some exteriors that looked incredibly crisp and real and those are the scenes that MM II reminded me of. In other words, it reminded me of the very best in another film with a nice creepy mood. It was a welcome surprise. As soon as I finish work, that's the one I'm going for. Also, I forgot Sally Kellerman was in it, so there's a nice bonus. Last edited by miribeau; 12-29-2018 at 02:02 PM. |

Update:
I just finished MM II Raven Dance. It looks and sounds wonderful and was quite a lot better, as a film, than I had remembered, but, the quality of what I had seen previously was rather awful, and that included the picture and sound. Even though I had seen it before, I now feel like I just saw it for the first time. The HD visual on the Blu is wonderful and nearly always hovered between 25 and 35 mbps, with the highest levels where you would expect it, on those wonderful exteriors and inside the church sanctuary, when you have the most color saturation and more complex images, and the 25s in dark sequences, in smaller spaces. With the exception of a blip at the very beginning of the very first scene, a dimly lit flashback, and then deliberate artifacts in the artistically rendered credits (a blue and black montage of moving images), the film doesn't have lines or blips or scratches or dust and maintains a nice layer of grain throughout, for those who care. The sound was clear and the music was actually really atmospheric, in that uniquely 90s way. I had remembered it as a quiet film but the music was actually present and manipulating in this presentation and, it turns out, I had misunderstood dialog the first time, so the movie made more sense, since I could finally understand the ramblings of Veronica Cartwright. And, since I love the ending, I really enjoyed it. I hope some others will too. I think this little 90s film has a bad reputation because of the terrible SD presentation, including sound. There is a scene involving, in some capacity, the camera showing a hand. In the version I previously watched, the hand was not visible, because the image was too dark. In this version, that image is clear, as are all other images in that very important sequence. Thank you to those who restored it and please post as soon as you have a semi-firm date for the January/February/March/April release of Mirror Mirror I. |

Dark Force was supposed to reveal which competitor (label) was responsible for both Code Red and their Big Cartel demises. What happened?

I kind of wonder if Morowitz would ever admit to how many copies he sells as Distribpix on Az Mkt vs Distribpix's official website. Last edited by miribeau; 12-31-2018 at 07:46 AM. |

I had to shut off the live stream. Felt like I was watching a case of elder abuse. Bill sounds like he's dying while this dude is making him dance like a monkey.
