I have to say that HDsub15 is great. I have tweaked and tweaked, and calibrated it. the only issue I have had wiht it is that when I got the fuse kept blowing on me. after some small investigating I discovered that the company (NOT deep discount) put the wrong fuse amparage in it, it's supposed to have a 3A250V fuse in it. iut even states this on the amp. After looking I realized that the fuse that was in it was a 1A250V fuse. ever since I got the right fuse in it. It has BLOWN ME AWAY. I'm sorry to ryan4blu's expeirence. He got a bad luck of the draw. just please try to understand that BigDaddy doesn't just hype up anything if it doesn't deserve it.

i hear ya and i am sorry for my rant just pissed that this thing right out of the box was so, shall i say not built well or flimsy i guess. to me its just not solid and i did not like its performance. i know i am comparing it to 2 other fantastic subs. but i was excited to order this AA and when i got it and all the problems, just got me down....

SORRY!!

I am sure for those of you that have them and they work well for you that they are decent subs, just not my bag i guess. i just got a lemon, but from what i have read that a few others have had problems as well. so i guess i am not the only one.

Hey man Im just as pissed as you, Thank god i registered mine the first day i got it. My AA HDSUB12 was working fine, but it had this annoying audible humm/buzzing coming from it, and I wasnt going to let that stand considering I just plugged it in right out of the box. So i contacted Customer Service and they have been good so far, they received my sub today, and they said they will either fix the amp or most likely send a new replacement out. So Hopefully my New sub works flawlessly, because i really like the Deep bass coming from this sub while watching Casino Royale(this was the only movie i got to watch on this sub before sending it back).

I hope i have my replacement by Friday so i can watch some blu's. But ya man it sucks. The worst part about it is that you can get a bad sub from Best Buy, but at least you can drive to Best Buy to replace it.

i hear ya, but i have given up with it, just want it gone. i dont think they will honor anything since i didnt register it right away. i may give them a call to see what they can do. but if they say it will cost like $100 to fix it than i am all set. like i said if anyone is interested in it let me know. work a l=nice cheap deal, something is better than nothing. good luck with yours

So just an update on the replacement amp for my HDSUB10. The amp arrived today, and so far as I can tell it's the same shell (took a photo of it before I sent it out to note markings), but the amp cable is different (and of smaller gauge I might add). So either they replaced all the guts or they just repaired it. Whatever. I've been using it on and off (mostly on ) for 7 or so hours now since it arrived. So far so good, and the bass is MUCH tighter than I remember it when I first got the sub last month. It does the job for HT in my office.

I am glad your problem was solved.

Something strange is going on. I have a feeling that they got a shipment of bad amplifiers from China or whatever other country they are assembled.

so far form what I have been reading is that the audible Humm comming form the sub is something that should be fixed is that right. Or if it's comming form the amp it should be fixed. Reason I'm asking is that my hum comes form the speaker not the amp. SO when I'm not using it I just turn it off. It doesn't matter what I do it stil hums

-It is plugged into a strip not connected to the rest of my HT.
-It is being hooked up via a shielded sub cable to a sheiled splitter
-it does not have a 3 prong (neg, pos, gorund) plug
. It is only a 2prong plug.
I have NOT had any problems wiht this sub, the bass is great tight and low where it should be.

If the hum is from ground loop sources, it is not the fault of the amplifier and the problem can be fixed. If the subwoofer has a hum even when it is not connected to anything else, then it may mean that something may not be right with the amplifier.

Read the Ground Hum & Group Loop Isolators thread.

Default Hummm sounds

Is the humm sounds are reported by few users, is it more audible or you will hear only when you put your ears on the sub?

On my sub if I put my ears on the speaker then I hear some noise (weather RCA cable is connected or not) also I am getting the same kind of noise on the Energy sub as well. Is this little bit of noise is common or defective?

My humm was audible from about 2ft away, got loud as you put your ear to the sub. But hopefully my new one will be perfect

Thanks, BD. I was actually thinking the same thing, being that suddenly there have been several reports of bad amps of late.

I have been reading this entire thread for the last 4 days. I had the order form filled on a Dayton Sub-120, since they are on sale again, until somehow I stumbled across this thread. I submitted a couple of offers & won a HD-10. As of now it is in Hodgkins, IL. I should have it tomorrow. Hopefully, it will have a good amp & work. Review to follow.

BTW graduating from a Dayton sub80 (3 months), from an ancient Sony sw305 (Tang band driver). 1st multichannel set up, been running a 2-channel Technics since 1990.

What color did you get? What are your other speakers now?

Star Trek, QOS, & TROTF (pretty much all of my blu's) have me curious about some of the lfe i'm missing out on. this thread made me go into my stash. just a little worried by the last couple of pages of this thread. if it works, i may get another, move up a size or 2 for our house, & eventually drop the 10 in our bedroom.
update
just hit Atl., should be here (Columbus) on the truck by 5am & maybe set up by 10am.

Is this normal to have little noise (will hear only put ears on speaker) on the sub?

I dont think you should have any humm/buzz coming from the sub. Unless its from your Ground Isolationg Loop. Then you can fix that easily by buying a Ground Loop Isolator. But most likely its your amp. I sent mine back and a new one should be here soon. Hopefully the new one doesnt have a buzz

Thanks ryandubbz,

I am hearing the hummm and it's not very loud. When I turn the volume/gain to full, no change in hummm volume and it's remain the same hummm. The hummm is coming even after disconnecting the RCA cable.

Let me know how your new one going to be.
