This fight will make McGregor a better fighter, he won the boxing side of the fight but I really don't think he realised he need much more to ko a much bigger guy.
He should go back down in weight and clear that division up again. |

The two main events were awesome!
The other fights...not so much. I didn't like the judges call on Lawlor/Anderson. Two judges gave all three rounds to Anderson, which was completely outta whack. I was going for Holm cause I thought she had a better chance of giving Rousey a good fight when she's back. I'm happy Tate won though. Gutsy finish for her. She knew she had to do something defining and did it. I went with Diaz in the final because...he's Nate mofo'ing Diaz, hahaha. MacGregor looked great early, but Diaz can take a lot and still be dangerous. He's done that so many times. |

I thought it was stupied of Conor to move up in weight he should have gotten a fight at lightweight or waited it out for the champ. There's no way a fighter can move up 2 weight classes and expect to be as good as he is at his regular fighting weight without training for that weight class. I was surprised that Tate won. I hoped she would but I figured that Holly would knock her out like she did Ronda.

However, Nate out landed him in total distance strikes and total strikes overall (and significant strikes) in the fight and he hurt him on the feet which led to the submission. Conor didn't win the boxing exchanges. Last edited by Optimus; 03-06-2016 at 10:54 PM. |

I don't know how much of a chance Frankie Edgar or Aldo will have against McGregor, but I definitely wouldn't count either out. However, I'm REALLY looking forward to a rematch with Max Holloway, he's been on a crazy tear lately. |

Considering her background, her grappling isn't that bad, Tate is a world class MMA grappler, she submitted Marloes Coenen when no one wanted any part of her. With that said, she can def improve much more in that department.

No, but I can see why the confusion.
It was a straight armbar. A kimura attacks the shoulder joint and in order to do it effectively you have to bend the elbow and McCorkle wasn't able to. He then did the smart thing and adjusted the way he was attacking the arm and by stretching the arm and keeping the grip it puts pressure on the elbow joint, hence why it was an armbar and not a kimura. Hope I explained that well enough. It makes sense in my head ![]() |
