Shame that is considered news but neither Roku or Amazon Fire has been as fast as Apple TV with supporting all the major competition. Its seems like there is always some streaming providers not caring about their latest apps being represented on all the streaming devices.

"In fact, we set a target of 100+ new titles per year, and this includes Disney Animation, Disney Live Action, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. Our direct-to-consumer business is the Company’s top priority, and our robust pipeline of content will continue to fuel its growth."

Streaming entertainment pioneer Netflix hit 100 million subscribers in April 2017, nearly six years after it first began reporting streaming sub numbers. CEO Reed Hastings celebrated with a solo steak dinner at Denny's. Though Disney+ is hot on its heels, Netflix remains the leader in the subscription video space with more than 200 million subscribers.

If you're primarily buying newer movies then that makes sense. I have been building my classic movie collection and finding those in stores is virtually impossible apart from Criterion's at Barnes & Noble. But, knock on wood, it is exceedingly rare that I received a damaged case or disc. Even my imports from the UK arrive in great condition.

You are very lucky! I always seem to have an issue with damaged movies. I never understand it. Oh well. At least the Best Buy close to me has a decent sized movie section. Although it's shrinking each year.

Why is it confined to EST? It’s happening all the time, in this pathetic woke/cancel culture world, who knows where we end up?

Disc is the ONLY way to preserve a uncut, untouched, uncensored film.

Hi Vilya, I have been listening to you guys but you go in circles. The people that prefer PM will never change. That niche market keeps getting smaller, it should be obvious to most that Streaming will take over. Now it's just a matter of picking the best Streaming Providers for your needs. Quality is all Subjective depending on your equipment and setup!

A/V quality has many objective measurements; the only thing that is subjective about it is how much any of us care about those objective measurements.

Just for kicks I decided to check the JustWatch site to see if some of the classic movies I purchased recently were available through streaming. I will admit I was surprised that some of them were available for EST but the majority were not. If I solely depended on streaming I would miss out on some great classic movies in my collection.

So any movie lover should hope that streaming does not take over because if it does our selection of movies will be limited compared to physical. I don't know how anyone could argue that is a good thing. Your blind devotion to streaming is no different than the physical only crowd. They just have more options.

If alchav had really been paying any attention, he would have realized that I have spent a fair amount of time recently discussing how to improve the audio quality of my streaming experience. I have posted several times discussing dedicated streaming devices. I think that's fairly open minded for someone that prefers physical media as much as I do.

I bought Office Space 4K SDR and The Favourite 4K SDR on iTines for $4.99 each over the weekend. They will serve as filler copies until the 4K discs are released. Considering they're Fox pictures, we'll see when Disney decides to release them on 4K disc.

It doesn't matter; spending time with all of you, even those of you that have made me pull my hair at times, has been the real reward. The time that I have spent here has been well spent.
