Was there for most of today and had a Great time. Detroit sports fans are very knowledgeable and Love to have a good time. "THERE AINT NO PARTY LIKE A Deeee-troit party". Local boy "Kid Rock" sells out Comarica regularly and these people just jam. I'm a Toronto boy but Detroit truly is "Detroit Rock City (Kiss)". It's a tough, working class city that Rock n Rolls and knows their sports. I hope it rebounds soon and that people discontinue leaving. It now has 1/3 the population of Toronto.

so every now and then I get the same dream..always different place but always same scenario.

I get in my car, put it in reverse to back out of a driveway or parking spot and when I hit the brakes, they don't work, I then use the E-brake and even that doesn't work, I put it in 1st gear and when I step on the gas it's like the engine has no power at all.
Last night was the worst, I'm stopped at an incline and again when I step on the gas, no power. Instinct tells me to step on the clutch and the brake to prevent it from stalling and from rolling backward, but again the brakes don't work and I start to go down the hill on the left side of the road. And all the other cars are just driving down the hill like its normal for me to be going down the hill backwards..

Thanks Scarriere for those nice words ! Been hiding / having cold turkey from blu-ray.com after crash. "lost so much with it" ... but, I guess, time to build again what was lost.

This doesn`t mean I`m ok !

Hahaha!
Good to see you back Man!

I don't like losing anymore Cool Dudes. Army Of Darkness, Betaman and others, I never see around. Sometimes when I read back on old threads brought up, I'll see a name and be like "Whatever happened to him/her?" Even Johnny Vinyl isn't as prolific as he once was. There are others who are pretty cool and I like reading their posts. Pentatonic, Wilky, Private Pixel, Lemmy and a few others are pretty much keeping the music section alive and that wasn't always the case before. I guess that with the great summer weather, we all like to go out and do outside stuff now and may not have the time to be here. Maybe I am panicking needlessly? I don't know.
This has bothered me for a bit and now after more than a few beers I am venting. Maybe I shouldn't be doing that.

It's great that you are back Nefilim!
You and other Cool Dudes are now forbidden from ever leaving here again.
We'll hunt you down, hahaha!

Default Where to travel to next?

Hmm. Pondering some decent airfare for early December. A week and a half in:

- Guatemala, or
- Costa Rica

I'm kind of keen on seeing Tikal, and there are a couple f other interesting cultural sites in Guatemala. On the other hand, Costa Rica offers eco-tourism, cloud forests, and beach.

Where to go?

I've been to Flint, Detroit & Oakland and am disappointed that Detroit CONTINUES to be on the list year after year. Michiganders and Ontarioans are neighbours and I've met many nice people from Detroit. Two million people used to live in Detroit and now there are under 800,000. I truly hope this Great sports city will rebound one day. My dad and I will be there Saturday for the Rockies/Tigers game. Behind the beautiful Comerica Park (Tigers) & Ford Field (Lions) are COUNTLESS burned out and boarded up homes and buildings. Sad to see.
Its so sad. I went to EMU and University of Michigan. The last time i visited Detroit 1 yr ago..Countless abandoned buildings.Lot of Ghetto and crime ridden.People don't like to live there anymore.

Both are great places for travel. I've been to both before & I really enjoyed Costa Rica a little more.

Costa Rica is a much safer country. I travel to Guatemala 4-5 times a year on business, and it's getting rougher down there every year (to the point I now have personal security while I'm there). I've stayed in Antigua several times, and it's a great colonial town to visit. I've also hiked to the lava flows up Pacaya, which was pretty cool. These days, there are lots of reports of people being robbed and sometimes kidnapped during these scenic-type expeditions, so I personally would not be doing anything like that in Guatemala any time soon.
