I'm starting to think that. For whatever ridiculous reason Disney seems to be dropping the Diamond banner for Europe, but that don't mean Aladdin is going to be a "regular". It's Disney royalty, it would be weird.

What I really don't get and am really angry about is that Disney keeps treating their overseas market like it's inferior. Why do we not get slipcovers? Why do certain movies never get to our stores? And now possibly dropping the Diamond banner for Europe? (With the European covers for Peter Pan released and all).. **** you, Disney.

God forbid! () I'll take my Mermaid in 3D, thank you very much.

Disney Germany has said that the Diamond line had these titles dropped (apparently that only affects Europe but here you go)

101 Dalmatians
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
Aladdin

the rest (The Little Mermaid+Jungle Book+Sleeping Beauty) should be released normally [wow! only three to go! ]

I'd have said the same thing too, but unfortunately, the DCA show is very, VERY popular--The Snow White and Toy Story musicals (and similarly "downgraded" Finding Nemo musical) it ain't.

Like "Little Mermaid", think it's a bit of hubris taking the condensed version back to the stage, but now they've had the crazy idea to expand the DCA Aladdin with all those rejected early-draft ideas from the animated movie. (Like Aladdin's mother, and his having two goofy best-buds-in-crime instead of Abu.)
THAT may be the step over the line, but we shall see.

Ha, you seriously believe Disney Europe would release Jungle Book as a Diamond Edition? Good luck with that! These are the people that released Peter Pan bundled with its sequel.

Anyway, yes I know, but Peter Pan and Aladdin are both among my top ten and I really want them to be Diamond. I'll probably end up printing the US cover and slipping it into the case, then importing the US slipcover..
Seems like a lot of trouble but I need Dutch audio and subtitles so I can't import.

I just posted what Disney Germany has said on Facebook. I as well find it extremely strange that The Jungle Book has not been dropped but it's Disney so logic is not to be expected I guess.

I may be in the minority that actually hopes Aladdin is dropped from the Diamond line here in the US. I am getting all of the Disney films on Blu and don't own them on any other format, so I really just want the movie to be released

Too cheap for cable/satellite; I use the money I would spend on that to purchase movies instead. I realize I have brought my situation upon myself.

I go to DCA,and DL twice a week and purposely by pass it unless i have a out of town guest who has never seen and insists they want to watch it.

let me also just say, they made a bad show even worse, when they took and cut out the one cool element of the show, the magic carpet flight above the audience, and replace it with aladin and Jasmin walking in the fog.

I sware there is about a good minute or so where people are looking around the the theatre wondering where the carpet is at, after hearing about that sequence. And you always hear people complaining when they leave the theatre about that scene now.

"I messaged Don Hahn (producer of Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Atlantis: the Lost Empire) earlier on Facebook, first explaining how huge a fan I was of it and then asking if there was any chance of an upcoming release of Hunchback on blu-ray. He responded!

"[It's] funny you should write me about this because i just saw the Bluray box cover art yesterday for Hunchback. I don't know the exact street date, but yes, [it'll] be out soon. Appreciate the kind words very much. Don."

He said Atlantis should be coming out at the same time. I asked if the sequels would be included, but he hasn't answered me back on that yet."

I don't think that they'll use a film print, it should be the caps file.

I definitely hope so. CAPS file would dramatically increase the picture quality of HonD. Looking at the old DVD right now.. ouch. They didn't put out a new version since 2000 for God's sake.

Looks like that Aladdin will be perhaps part of the European Diamond Edition.
