UCF defeated SMU 17-7 to win the Conference USA championship for the 2nd time in 4 years with a 10-3 record On to the Liberty Bowl and hopefully a better conference fairly soon.

They aren't better at all. I'll bet Auburn would be a slight favorite over Oregon if they play in the title game. Oregon's numbers such as margin of victory only appear better because of their vastly weaker schedule. I believe Stanford is the only ranked team Oregon played all year while Auburn has played like 6 ranked teams.

Nice touchdown run by Cam Newton, starting to doubt that South Carolina can stop Auburn's offensive attack enough to win this game.

How many friggin uniforms does Oregon have? I swear I've never seen them wear the same pattern/colors two straight games. They must have at least a dozen different ones.

In Oregon's defense though, they are great at controlling all of their games with their running game, and they don't rely on their QB to throw TD's for them. Auburn needs Newton to throw the ball in order for them to win most of their games. A bad game from him, and they're pretty well guaranteed to lose the game.

Quote:
WASHINGTON -- Longtime agent Gary Wichard was suspended by the NFL Players Association on Friday for nine months for his role in a recruiting scandal involving the University of North Carolina.

The union also is revoking the agent certification of Southern California undergrad Teague Egan, who gave a ride across campus to tailback Dillon Baxter, a violation of NCAA rules. Union spokesman George Atallah said a review of Egan's qualifications showed he "is not fit to be a certified contract advisor."

"We appreciate that the NFLPA let us know about its action promptly so we could alert our players, including those who are soon to be draft eligible," USC vice president of compliance Dave Roberts said in a statement from the school. "Although the NFLPA has decertified Egan, USC would still view any benefit received from him by a current student-athlete to be impermissible under NCAA agent rules."

Wichard, an agent since 1980, was suspended for his involvement with Marvin Austin, a former Tar Heels player who was dismissed from the team in October. Among his NFL clients are Dwight Freeney, Jason Taylor, Antonio Cromartie, Elvis Dumervil, Terrell Suggs and Darren Sproles.

The union said Wichard agreed to the nine-month suspension and waived his right to appeal. Wichard did not immediately respond to a request from The Associated Press for comment.

Earlier this season, the NCAA investigated the longtime friendship between former Tar Heels assistant coach John Blake, who resigned in September, and Wichard. Attorneys for both men said Wichard loaned money to Blake, though they denied there was any agreement for Blake to steer players to Wichard when they went to the NFL.

In its ruling, the NFLPA said the California-based Wichard is suspended beginning Dec. 1, "for having impermissible communication with University of North Carolina player Marvin Austin at a time Austin was not eligible for the NFL draft under the NFL/NFLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement."

They are great at controlling games. Oregon's rapid fire offense really throws off most opponents. That's why teams late in the season started faking injuries multiple times during games just to slow down the pace of Oregon's offense.

This is probably the most pathetic incident I've seen. Check out Cal's #40 player. You can clearly see him look to the sideline before falling to the ground and faking an injury.

Yeah, that tactic to slow down the game is pretty pathetic. The NCAA should look into that.

I can't believe that the Oregon kicker missed that chip shot kick. Jeez.

Darn it Auburn is beating the crap out of SCU, so much for my prediction of an upset in that game.

Same deal with Oregon-Oregon St. Looking like no upsets and an Auburn-Oregon "national title game."

Yep and it looks like another NC for the SEC. I see Oregon not showing up like last year vs. OSU.

It's still early to say that, but it sure is looking like they're both locked up for the national title game. Especially, since they're both known to be awesome second half teams. If Oregon State South Carolina can't muster enough points in the first half against Oregon and Auburn, then it's pretty much over for both of them.

It should be a relatively high-scoring, exciting title game, but I agree. I just cannot see Oregon beating Auburn. Newton and Auburn always gut out the close games and they've run the table with an absolutely brutal schedule, unlike Oregon.

I hope Oregon shows up, it's time for a school not from the SEC to win a championship. Suck on that, Alabama!

Looking like CUSA champ UCF is going to get Georgia in the Liberty Bowl. Should be a pretty good matchup, though we'll be an underdog.

Wow terrible fumble by Newton. South Carolina is back in business.

EDIT - Nevermind... South Carolina threw a pick the next play.

Yay thanks Newton, that should make this game a bit more interesting, might be the play SCU needs to turn this around.
