My Dr Who season 20 pre-order, is currently estemating a delivery in October,
which is odd, because A: It's in stock and B: I live in England, Earth, and not Cydonia, Mars |

Everything I've pre-ordered from Amazon UK lately, when it's in stock (either on release day or later) it still takes another 3-8 days before they ship it. I'd now actually be surprised if they shipped on release day.

Talking stock availability it seems to be with Trumptonshire it was the fault of Fabulous Films for the delay not the retailers. Both Amazon and HMV finally have stock 2 days late (they had the DVD version on release day but BD stock arrival was late).
My Amazon order is due for Friday delivery (same as if you order from them today) whereas HMV say in stock so if they shop promptly would mean delivery Friday or Saturday. Am finding that studios really are cutting the time to the bone when they have stock ready to hand to retailers. Some studios still do promptly but others are now always seemingly late. Obviously all the above doesn't cover the pre-orders especially the Amazon misprices. For example with Crimes of the Future Amazon left the misprice up for sale for months so were probably swamped with orders and obviously can't get enough stock from Second Sight to satisfy all the orders they take. |

I've pre-ordered something on my friend's Prime, but the item isn't released until a week after her annual membership ends. She isn't renewing it because the choice of movies is pretty awful.
The item is under £25, so only qualifies for free delivery under the Prime 'benefits'. Will Amazon honour the free postage because the order was made prior to the cancellation, or will they bang a postage cost on top? ![]() I'd rather get info from someone who has been in the same boat than have to phone amazon themselves. ![]() |

So they're going to ask for more cash from next year just so I can avoid adverts! Hmm, I think I might say goodbye to the Bezos collective. Currently 9 quid per month and I reckon 3 quid for this. Not happening.

Could be an advantage by cancelling Prime, save yourself 100ish lids a year and just space orders out and still get free delivery. Cut down impulse purchases perhaps, I dunno. Reckon it could have positive outcomes in some ways especially if you watch very little on Prime Video.
It does have some nice obscure stuff and loads of polizio. Quality is hit and miss though from UHD through to absolute potatoturd muck. Pre orders could be a pain though. Then again, their pre order system is very poor and never on time anyway (in my experience). |

The vast majority of stuff can be ordered to a local Amazon locker for free. If you live in a city or a town with a locker nearby then Prime is a waste of money unless you a) want items delivered a day earlier (although often locker items get delivered with the same speed) or b) want to watch their online content.

It does irk that you can go on the page and get it prime delivery by tomorrow, but I don't mind waiting as long as it turns up undamaged next week. Probably won't sell out before then ![]() I would cancel and re-order but I have a non refundable promotional credit on there (only reason I went with amazon in the first place). As they are clowns when it comes to pre-orders. Probably could get 5-10 off my next order if I can be bothered to complain. |
