They'll match.

If the CC-70 matches the mini monitors, the mini monitors will match the cc-300.

The speaker cones are practically the same size.

I set all my speakers to small in the mix anyway.

Hope it matches the mini monitors.

I'm a little freaked because I think it is part of the reference line.

How different are they gonna sound!??!?!

eeeeeeeep.

no returns accepted!!! Oh well...Make a decision and live with your decision.

CC 300 will be a good match for the mini monitors, it is not a part of the Studio Reference line, I believe that they start at CC 450 although mine is only called Studio CC without a number designation...

AWESOME!!!

It has two sets of posts on the back.

Which set would I use if I don't want to bi-amp/ bi-wire??

EDIT:

I looked at the close-ups of the speaker and you are absolutely right. The guy is advertising them as reference but on the back it clearly says performance series.

I'm glad. I should probably be a d!ck and call him on it, but I'm just glad the search is over. I don't really care what model, I just want good condition and according to his sales pitch, he travels alot and is rarely home and never got to use it. The thing is in tip top condition from the photos. I'm getting PSYCHED!!!

You severely overpaid for that cc300.
MSRP when new in mid 90's was less than $300 and his other speakers are way overpriced too.
btw it's from the performance line and is roughly 15-20 years old. Not even close to reference.....mini monitors are from the monitor line and completely different from performance series.

How do you know he overpaid? Plus, all that really matters is that he's happy & the speakers match up and sound great.

LD - I do think you should call the guy out on the misleading advertising. Its a pretty serious mistake, fortunately it works in your favor!

Well...you are probably both right actually. The fact of the matter is I built my system well over 10 years ago and I'm so far out of the Paradigm loop that I don't know what is what anymore.

This was definitely an impulse buy and hopefully one I will not regret. As long as the speaker works, I don't care about the money.

I've been using a CC-70 with Mini Monitor fronts for years now and I just know I'm not happy. I get beautifully rich surround and it sounds like my center has a cold.

Paradigm says in their FAQ section that with very few exceptions, all their speakers sound awesome together.

So, yeah, I bought a shady speaker from a shady dude but it is definitely an upgrade.

We'll see.

The internet is filled with people who want to make you feel bad or worse about something though so I tend to take it all with a grain of salt. I think all that Paradigm CC-stuff is pretty much the same.

Well, it's too late now but here's the info:

Paradigm Monitor Line:
CC-300, 350, 370, 390: it goes up through the version numbers.

Version 1, 2: 1st Gen
Version 3, 4: 2nd Gen
Version 5, 6: 3rd Gen
Version 7: 4th Gen

The odd numbers are completely new drivers, the even numbers are slight cosmetic changes and crossover upgrades.
The version 7s are just coming out now represent the 4th generation of Paradigm Monitor speakers. The Center 1 and Center 3 replace the CC-190 and CC-390 I believe.

This type of information is hard to come by on the interwebs.
For reference, I have some v3 Monitors and some v5 Monitors, and my friend just got some v6 stuff which he likes.

I can't agree with this in any way. How can different designs with different components sound pretty much the same? The CC-290 is a 3-way design using 4 drivers in a large cabinet with 2 ports. The 3-way center design is great because it reduces a lot of the horizontal lobing that you get with a lot of 2-way center channel designs. The older 2-way center channel speakers don't do much to address this concern.

They'll be close enough to blend.

You are commenting on hard facts. If you peel the onion further, you will notice that someone who can deal with a cc-70 mixed with Mini monitors will most likely be able to deal with this monster center and Mini monitors.

I had a friend with Scott fronts, a polk center and generic rears and it sounded awesome.

Paradigms are voiced flat with almost ZERO eq, so they will blend well.

None of this matters AT ALL until I actually get this thing.

We'll have to see. (Assuming it works) the odds of it completely sucking B@ll$ are slim.

I agree, I pieced together my Paradigms over a couple of years and they sound outstanding - Studio 60's and Studio CC V1 front end, the ADP 350 (monitor line v2) for the rear and Atom V5's for the rear side surrounds, a great mix in my opinion for the sub I ended up with an Energy S10-3 but it goes down to 21hz +/- 3 so I'm quite happy and I'm sure you will be with your set up...

Thanks man. I'm looking forward to it.

I got an e-mail from the dude yesterday and he seems way cooler than I thought he was.

His auction had alllllllll these red blurbs like "It's YOUR job to do the research...alllllll sales are final." yadda yadda yadda.

As it turns out; he's not a d!ck. He's just covering his butt and was very cool and very grateful in the message.

Surprised when I cracked open my CC-290 to see that they are using particle board and not MDF. Although I guess particle board is a little stronger and is considered by most to be an acceptable material for making speakers. Funny thing, it's tough to get good cuts with particle board.

Oh yeah and from my examination of the parts involved, paradigm uses some pretty good components in their monitor series. No cheap crap.

Right now I have Paradigm Monitor 7's v.6 with the cc-190 and was using cinema 90's for my surrounds. I am only doing a 5.1 set up. I just picked up a pair (new in box) that my local dealer had of the ADP-190's for 300. Installed them today and they sound fantastic!....right now I have a velodyne sub but may go DSP-31-3200.... not sure yet. I heard the 3100 pounds and sounds great!....

The website is up. Paradigm Shift looks like stuff aimed and young people. It's got 4 product catagories:
Powered speakers, earbuds, headphones, and video games. The earbuds look interesting, but I bet the'll cost way too much. The only powered speakers I saw looked like 2-way high-end computer speakers. No idea what they sound like.

It makes sense, and will probably get more name recognition for Paradigm. They did design a new logo for "Paradigm Shift" though as if it's a spin-off company?

I have Bose earbuds I was never really happy with and the cord is just starting to fray - perfect timing! I placed an order yesterday for the E3m's!
