I'm fortunately on the West coast, so it will air early here. I padded my DVR an extra 30 minutes for now.

I know many 24 viewers are really unhappy that Kiefer Sutherland isn't participating other than getting an EP credit. But, they really need to stop ripping the show without even seeing it yet and spewing their hate on social media. If you're not interested in seeing a different story in the 24 universe, no one is pointing a gun to your head to watch. Go to bed or do something else.

I've liked what I've seen from Corey Hawkins limited work and I'm willing to give him a chance.

Exactly.

It will be interesting though, and I will surely give it a chance. I'm sure everyone involved knows how many people are going to feel about the lack of Jack Bauer, so I would imagine they really ramped up the "Series" premiere to get people to stick around. The 2nd episode airing the following night should help also.

The lead actor just isn't good enough to pull this off imo.

He was okay in Straight Outta Compton.

Kiefer Sutherland wasn't exactly lighting up the silver screen when he was cast as Bauer. I have zero expectations for Legacy, but it wouldn't shock me if Hawkins was a decent lead.

I think the trailers are a pretty good indication of what to expect from him as an actor.

I thought it was a pretty good start.

I kind of like that the Eric Carter is very raw with his field skills. That final climatic sequence was pretty exciting.

I did LOL when Rebecca Ingram tased her protege. That was pretty badass.

I'm not feeling it. It seems like they're repeating Season 1. A Senator seeking the Presidency whose wife seems overly ambitious. A previous covert operation undertaken by the main character coming back to haunt him. His wife being in danger from terrorists. The head of CTU who may be a double-agent is knocked unconscious.

I swear if that dark-haired high school girl takes her clothes off at some point just like Mandy did, I'm out. Right now, I'll stick with it for a few more episodes since it is only a 12-episode season and the pilot for the original 24 wasn't all that great either(I was hooked after the 3rd episode). But I'm more than a little concerned that they're just repeating themselves. And I'm not really digging Corey Hawkins in the lead role. I don't need a Bauer clone, but at least have a damn personality.

Entertaining but feels like more of the same right now.

Stupid girlfriend character who you know is going to say something to the wrong person and put the wife in jeopardy. And then we'll get gangbangers vs. terrorists.

Stupid greedy junkie who only exists to be a selfish moron and makes things worse for the hero. That happened in season 5 with Samwise's crack addict sister who somehow managed to sell a CTU access badge on Craigslist to terrorists in under an hour.

Potential mole. In this case, since they think he's the mole in the first episode, he won't be. And if you've seen previews, you already know what happens with him.

High school subplot looks like it could be extremely stupid and a waste of time.

Also, why give one of the worst main characters in 24 history a cousin? You could've made her Milo or Adam or Chloe's cousin.

The problem is the writing is so predictable and rote now, they just recycle not only the same formulaic points but also the really annoying "tics" that the 24 writing team has become known for. For example, the whole thing always being able to be solved in two minutes if not for some selfish idiot messing things up for no good reason. ie. The friend who steals the chip because "the government owes me!", the ho at the compound going to tell on the wife, the doofus horny teacher, etc.

So "24: Legacy" is more or less the "The Bourne Legacy" of 24, right?

Both this and the Bourne movies are artifacts of a decade that I kinda don't care to be reminded of.

here's a novel idea - try Watching it, THEN comment on it. it May take you a few episodes since you Obviously think he's a bad actor, but why write it off Until you've seen it a bit

not really but it may help to give one an understanding of how CTU runs in relation to the Lead character (Kiefer's "Jack Bauer" then, Corey Hawkins in this new version).
