What’s the differs between the two pressings? Do they use different masters?

The next Disney + series looks highly attractive as shown by this final Youtube trailer. Coming on the 19th at 12:01AM. Episodes run 45 to 55 mins.

I forgot the actual details, but Geoff went into major detail/comparisons in the Blade Runner 2049 thread.

Since I had not bought the film in 4K yet, I combined it with The Prestige 4K at that time.

The latter reminded me as we went though the years dealing with slow stodgy GUI interfaces with BD and UHD BD players that was indeed annoying. I hope both the not reviewed examples, the rack looking Tascam UHD BD and the Reacon two models aren't too slow.
Tedious as hell? Really? I use my 9000 everyday, and it's neither tedious or slow. I had 2 Oppo players, not the 205, and the 9000 rivals it in many ways. The video and audio quality is top notch, and nothing out right now is better.

Guess you need to ask him via PM what his GUI/navigations observations are based on. But I presently have lot of Oppo players and the most recent ones (203/205) based on the MT8591 SoC which is quad core GUI is fairly fluid. The previous 103D/105D are only slightly slower. Yes I own all those and more.

Lucky for you. My previous Oppo's were confiscated by my ex who enjoyed HT as much as I do.

Reference quality for me, stunning video and a mesmerising Atmos track. My highlight of 4K viewing as of now. It rocks!
I guess I need to watch my copy then.

I survived being harpooned today; I was given the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. It was a bit strange seeing National Guardsmen running the vaccine site, though. I felt like I was back in boot camp... except for the fact that they were all so polite.

1917 is one of the best UHD discs. Definitely top 10. If you have The Revenant, it's every bit as good. Congrats on the shot.

Just got back from getting my first covid shot - it was painless and efficient. The second dose is April 12, and then it should be at full strength by April 26. I'll be checking out showtimes at my local AMC. I got the email that my local AMC opens 3/19.

Loads of 4K discs announced recently. So its not going anywhere and it's a win-win.

Absolutely, In my case the UHD and the online copy are both essential. The disc for my home theater and the online version for EVERY other location.

Kind of related to the 1917 chatter, I bought Dunkirk used for under $10. My used UHD came with a un-used 4K digital copy which is always a thrill when buying used. After experiencing the disc version, I felt I would never want to watch the online copy because the music was so moving the compressed audio would ruin it.

Disc is the only way to go for those films.

To be frank, there isn't a huge difference in audio but Nolan films on streaming won't feature shifting aspect ratio which means disc is the way to go.

There are members at AVForums with massive HTs who have reported they didn't notice any major differences in audio. Ex. Tenet. One member reported that iTunes 384 Kbps sounded almost identical to the DTS-HD MA on the disc on his gear.

I do admit some streams have poor audio (ex. John Wick 3). I don't know why. It sounded awful but the disc was fine.

If you look at SpareChange reviews, his assessment of audio quality on digital is just a point below the disc.

Personally, my beloved separates are gone which means I am not qualified enough to judge sound quality even though I have a 7.1.4 soundbar but I will be going back to separates few months down the line when I move home.

I actually enjoyed 1917 more than Dunkirk. Dunkirk was my first disappointment as a Nolan fan. Super disc again but I found the film lacking. The premise sounded awesome but I felt ‘disconnected’, which is never good in a HT!
