Thats what I am planning on doing. As sexy as the Digibook is, I am a completist so I will picking up the Steelbook.

So, is this a good blind buy for someone who really enjoyed the first two movies? I've read too many negative things about 'Rises which makes me cautious.

Can anyone confirm that the TDKR steelbook will be like the other 2 steelbooks and BestBuy? As in, with the rectangular side and same font, and inner covers?

Is there such thing a good deal breaker?
Should have "a book-like cover" Hardbound books, quite often, have jackets on them, does that make them all deal breakers?
Also regardless of the cover(which IMO is awesome), I'm quite sure it will have "book-like" pages. Which, next to the actual movie itself, would be the biggest draw of this release.

Now that I have a free digital copy (Thanks, UltraViolet!) I might hold off on purchasing until there's a big price drop. When do the ads usually leak? I'd feel like a tool paying more than $15.

Depends on who said & where you read them.
I'm sure you can find negative things said about every movie in your collection, if you searched for it.
Nothing wrong with adding good/bad criticisms into your buying thought process...but, ultimately, you should be your own guide!

Hrmph. Fail. I don't even know what BRDC means..

Although, the link is working for me, for whatever reason.

EDIT: Wait. Is BRDC, "blu-ray.com"?

That's a very good question.

Though it's only a small feature, I really want to see the Reborn documentary, so right now I'm leaning toward either the Best Buy Exclusive Steelbook or trading in my copies of Begins and TDK and getting the trilogy set from Best Buy. Although that digibook is bound to be mighty sexy...

Consider me still on the fence!

To anyone who has seen the Reborn doc, is it worth the (likely) extra money to get the BB exclusive?

Yes, blu-ray.com. Can't explain why the link doesn't work for me, all the other links I click on are working. Was hoping someone else would comment on this by now.

Just to confirm,

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/The+Dark...ises&lp=2&cp=1

That's the Steelbook, correct? I remember seeing someone say Best Buy had another regular exclusive, but maybe I'm wrong. Just want to be sure I order the correct one.

I've already got the Bat Cowl pre-ordered from Amazon. Thought about canceling, but since it really is limited I suppose I'll keep it. But I'm also a completist and already have Begins/TDK Steelbooks, so alas. I'm horrible when it comes to double dipping on this trilogy.

Oh, and then there's that UCE...

I can confirm you ask too many useless questions. You seem a bit confused. Almost like you want us to tell you which version to get. It's only a week away. Mellow out, man. You'll have a chance to check them all out come next Tuesday. It won't kill you. Just like a lenticular DigiBook cover won't kill you.

But I will say this, it's not a Disney steelbook. It's a WB steelbook. It won't be different like the Avengers steel. It will fit in line with the other Best Buy steelbooks. The only differences may be: 1) It will probably have inside art. If thats a problem for you, because the BB and TDK $10 made in Denmark steels were blank inside, I don't know what to tell ya. 2) Like TASM, it might have a glossy finnish. But since it is a WB release, probably not. Every WB steel I have ever seen is matte. With the exception of the original Green Lantern Blu-ray BBY DVD case sized steel.

Read thru the last 10 pages. Maybe you'll calm down a bit

Those who pre-ordered, did you pay the full amount or just half? I had my gf go in and pre-order, but she only paid $15 and the receipt says DVD, not BD. Does that mean she pre-ordered the DVD version? She was also given the pre-order card that says Blu-Ray Steelbook.

Isn't there a number on the receipt you could call? The store's number, perhaps?

Was in a Walgreens in Delaware just now and they had the blu rays out in their display! I tried to buy a copy but they said at the register they could not sell it until the 4th. I was so close!!

It's only about 38 minutes long and does not give you anymore insight into the movies than the special features would give you for the respective films. Personally speaking I would say no, but I look at it as a bonus for buying the steelbook.

I payed half the amount, so $15. Hmm... I didn't pay attention but I'm pretty sure the steelbook is exclusive to the blu-ray version of the film. Hope that cleared things up.

Yeah, let us know what you find out. I had a real confusing time about it... because I bought the BB/TDK steelbooks early in the promotion period, they hadn't issued gift cards yet. The manager just signed my receipt with a note to discount. So when I went in today, I found the same manager & she told the rep to ring it up with $5 off for each purchase steelbook.

Here's roughly what's on my receipt:

DVD Pre-sell - Dark Knight Rises Excl C reg $14.99 5.00 disc
9.99
Dark Knight Reborn cinemanow reg $14.99 5.00 disc 9.99 pack disc
0.00
Info sku TDKR presell esc info sku
00.00

So total with tax 10.86. The rep said "you just pay the balance when you pick it up". So I don't know if I'm gonna get a hassle because the total deposit amount isn't on there... I guess I'll see on the 4th.

I'm holding onto all my receipts anyway.

If you look at my post earlier, I stated that I paid the $15 deposit and also I just looked at my receipt and it says DVD as well but I have the card I took up to preorder with me and it states "Pre-Order The Steelbook Today And Watch Exclusive Content Tonight!" If you read at the bottom of that card it states "pre-order the exclusive blu-ray combo pack steelbook so I can almost guarantee you it is the blu-ray and not the dvd. It must just ring up as dvd in their systems.
