John Noble Rumor is False.

The dudes over at Moviehole have debunked the John Noble appearing in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII rumor. Turns out that not only did the DJs have no source to the rumor, they never actually said it. Thanks rumor-mongers!

Not a problem. I expect most posts in this thread to be highly speculative and take them with a grain of salt. I think if we scan back 100 pages, we'll see JJ Abrams was rumored to direct, then it was shot down, now he's directing.
I'll just continue to do what I always do with this thread: Have fun!

can't blame Shatner - Star Trek has been mistreated by the studio over the years and looked at as a lesser product than things like Star Wars. People gush over Star Wars but forget how important Trek is in both tv and movie history. but there was no guarentee that Abrams was doing a third movie anyways so abandoning might be little harsh.

Yeah, he was definitely saying that tongue and cheek. People are taking it out of context.

Ha, I like to have the occasional look to see what the latest rumor is. I can't help it.

I cant see Disney letting anything leak any time soon though.

I once read that Christian Bales lifelong dream was to play a stormtrooper though.

A lot of it was true, just very diluted. I knew about a cyborg that steals lightsabers in '99, as well as a Sith that uses a fencing sword. This is Grevious and Dooku, and neither piece of info, true as they turned out to be, revealed anything about plots, etc.

That's why I said none of it played out how I thought it would ... even though it was true ... I knew about the clones being clones of Boba Fett but I pictured an EPIC battle of Jedi vs Clones of Boba for the Clone Wars ... not Clones vs Droids

IMO, I think Lucas specifically chose droids because killing tons of droids wouldn't seem as violent as killing clones. It helped to preserve his precious PG rating but at the same time allowed a lot of war time carnage. It's quite brilliant when you think about it.

Another big misconception for me was Alderaan. Who knew that Alderaan was planet Colorado?

Exactly.

Though I would not call it brillant, because it reminded me of those Saturday morning cartoons (such as GI Joe) where you had battles and nobody got hurt. Like fighter jets getting shot down and there was ALWAYS a parachute to be seen.

The droids should have been scaled way back a lot more and never even made it past the Phantom Menace.

.
