I had to cancel the LE from SF earlier today. I'm still getting it, but I'm sticking with my Amazon order of $55 or whatever it is. Oh well.

I didn't see anything in the initial thread post, will this be shipping early from Scream? I'm still hoping for a price (re)drop on Amazon.

Probably my OCD talking but I hope the boxes don't come as-is scuffed like that (especially if you're paying $80).

very cool, glad i got this version. though i see they seem to prefer the alt. poster for the theatrical cut with the eyes as the unboxing video showed that to be the "backside".

i havent seen the theatrical in like 15yrs or more so i'm anticipating watching that as much as the director;s cut.

It doesn't work that way. Due to the licensing fees they had to pay for the Theatrical Cut.

Warner Bros. initially allowed them only the rights to produce 5,000 copies of the set.

Since IIRC it was mentioned that they would likely release the Theatrical Cut themselves using Warner Archives afterwards at some point. But after the quick sell out they were much more willing to allow for an extra 5K. Of course Scream/Shout had to pay licensing fees for that additional 5K copies.

So their production costs didn't really get reduced by expanding the production run.

Just a quick question for anyone who's ever pre-ordered from Scream/Shout before... Do they send shipping notices with tracking, or will Nightbreed just start quietly landing on our doorsteps?

I got an email that my Pumpkinhead had shipped and to be expecting it within 5-7 days...three days after receiving it.

Is the directors cut the new cut that was made after finding the lost scenes?

I believe it adds some lost footage but also re-edits the film more in line with what was originally intended before the studio changed it up. The limited version adds more footage that was cut but it may not be complete with sound and such. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

After seeing the unboxing video of the limited edition I decided to cancel my pre-order of the regular edition and jumped on that bad boy. To be fair the extras were a tempting fact, I probably would of still bought the limited edition, the unboxing just moved me along quicker.

I will say one thing, did there really need to be two cases. You could of easily put this in a 3-disc case and then had the book and single case in the slipbox, like The Exorcist 40th edition did. In fact I may just switch the case with a 3 disc case and shove all the discs in it and put the book, extra case, and box somewhere safe.

I preordered one on Shout's site when it first went live at $80+ tax/shipping and I just got an e-mail that the order was canceled completely because my credit card could not be validated (my credit card # had changed since placing the order and I never updated it with them). No big deal, as I was really contemplating canceling anyway as I had later placed an order for one from Amazon when it was around $56. I left the Shout order active as well because it would have been in the first 1,000, but I really don't give a crap about that at this point. If they had sent me a "please update your credit card info" request, maybe I would have kept the order active, but I guess their system isn't set up that way.

Anyway, all said, if they were trying to validate my card at Shout, it looks like they are getting ready to ship these out very soon to those who preordered a copy there.

This is exactly what happened to me tonight.

I'm one of the knuckleheads that used a CC at Home Depot during the recent hacking thing and replaced that CC a couple weeks ago forgetting that I still had this outstanding order on the old card. Like you, I also happened to have placed an order on Amazon when the price was really low as a back-up. I never really cared for the poster, etc - I just want the theatrical and "new" versions but went ahead and ordered the 3 disc set when it looked like the set would sell in a day or two during the initial insanity it went up for pre-order. The last couple days, I was half-assed looking on Shout's website to see about cancelling my order and tonight I get an e-mail saying they kiboshed it. Now Amazon will be my go-to for this set and I'll get free shipping thanks to Prime.

If the people that get this set 2 weeks early report back there's some kind of funky issues with the transfer (this is Shout, after all), I'll have really dodged a bullet and I'll just cancel my Amazon order.

I may go buy lottery tickets.

I will have my job by release date, so funds aren't a problem, but I'm going to wait for reviews. I (like an idiot) canceled my locked in Amazon price, but I may end up getting the bare bones regardless.
