I hadn't followed any of the discussions about the new 4K release, so I didn't know that all the earlier releases on DVD and Blu-ray didn't have the "Stairway to Heaven" notes on them until today. Am I glad they restored it on here! I can't imagine watching it again and not hearing that like I did in the theater. Will probably get the second one on 4K soon as well.

Supreme Swordsman (1984, Jason Piao etc), while this film had some interesting magic elements and special effects and the storyline was fine, the sword fights were way, way too sped up to be enjoyable unfortunately.

The Sword (1971, Jimmy Wang Yu etc), now this is more like it, excellent swordfights, good characters and storyline

My spoils from this month's Shout Factory 4K UHD sale:

My wallet and I are once again heading for divorce, but I don't care because I am satisfied with this haul. This is definitely more than I would get from the Criterion sales alone!

9 of them had slips, while the other 9 didn't. But that's neither here nor there.

The only 4K steelbook I wanted from this sale was Darkman, and I'm glad I waited till this sale to finally get my hands on it.

I originally bought the Willy's Wonderland 4K steelbook from Amazon a couple of weeks ago, but had to send it back immediately due to the steelbook case not closing properly. The standard 4K slip edition looked way better anyway.

As far as Robocop 2 goes, I was originally gonna get the steelbook, but after seeing how much the artwork looked like hot garbage, I pumped the brakes on that one and just settled for the standard 4K instead. Still waiting on the inevitable 4K announcement of Robocop 3...

And as far as the Child's Play/Chucky series goes, all I need to get is just the 4K's of Bride, Seed, and Cult of Chucky, and then the series will be complete...at least until the next Chucky film.

Damn, this felt like Black Friday all over again, and Shout didn't disappoint here!

Until the next sale from them...

I never really gave this one much attention. Thought it was just one of many standard rom-coms that get churned out every year. But, it came up during a conversation with my brother recently and he told me it was hilarious. And his judgment is something I hold in high esteem, so I picked it up and gave it a chance. Yea, it's f**king hilarious. One of the funniest films I have seen in a long time. Chalk another one up for my bro!
