Well, after much thinking - about the pattern of bad amps from AA - I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered an ED A2-250 (the size for this worked better for me than the A2-300 (plus, I can't wait any longer!))... $325 shipped... Great specs, reviews and looking forward to getting something proudly Made in the USA!

The Deep Discount was very good about the refund. Full refund promptly given and no questions asked... Good enough customer service that I would indeed consider doing business with them again.

Its been fun. Off to the ED subwoofer forum I go!

Ya i got my refund within 3 days, so just waiting for my a2-300 to arrive, only 3 more weeks and some days!!!

I keep hearing that these HD subs are having bad amps. Neither one of mine are bad, both are the HD 15 black. are the ones having problems the cherry or maple? If so I wonder why they don't do like a recall or something. Anyone else feel the same or is it just me.

I have/had two hd-sub15's, one hd-sub12 and one psw-15 and never had a problem. The only exception is the auto on/off switch needs a fairly strong signal to keep the sub on.

sorry, but these things are failing outright. hi-level, lo-level, full on, auto on. mine played fine for a few hrs. then it did nothing but get progressively worse & finally it quit working. i connected a smaller plate amp i have & it (the woofer) plays fine. my amp is gone, no puff of smoke, no smell, or weird noises. just a slow, quiet death.

I have two HD-SUB 12s and haven't had any problems with them.

It appears hundreds of these subs have been sold and i only see a very small percentage of that number reporting problems. Probably well within the "normal" problem rate of other mfgs. Look at the other name brands and its obvious. A number of people on this site keep rerunning their problem making the "failure rate" appear higher than it actually is.

I am looking at purchasing two of these and was wondering if anyone here has them. This thread is very big now & I didn't find them with a search so I apologize if this topic has been discussed. Any recommendations or cautions with these. I am planning of getting an Emo xpa-5 (when they are back in stock) to drive these and my front sound stage. Thanks for all input.

Could you remove my name from the owners page... I just sold off my HDSUB12. I was able to get $250 for it, not too bad i think. Now the 4 week countdown begins....

I'm gonna miss that little guy

. I mean, It being my first sub and all. I still think this was a great sounding sub for the money. It really blows that some users got a defective unit on the newer production runs. But I would still suggest one to anyone looking for something under $200. Its a good sounding unit.

where would i send this AA HD12 sub i have for a new amp? or where can i get one. i bought one a while ago brand new and didnt like it, so i tried to sell it. when i pluged it in again to test it before i sold it, it never powered on. i never registered it cause i was not going to keep it. how can i get it fixed?

i actually just emailed them to ask some questions on getting it fixed.
