Kong V Godzilla already indicates that numbers can return close to pre-covid given a major release.

Why don’t you admit why you are here Lee? You are not interested in the obvious reasons behind those figures, you just want to use a freak time in history to jump on this agenda driven train of yours. The timing of your joining this forum is so obvious to me as is your sudden interest in the home media sales section. Many people have you sussed (including me) but you continue with your drivel.

Glad the site is back.

In other news, this could be interesting. Though more than likely they will just change the verbiage from "buy" to "lease".

One issue that has been floating around for years is how much does one actually own digital video content they’ve purchased. Now, Apple is reportedly facing a putative class action that could impact the way digital film and TV releases are sold.

THR reports that a U.S. federal judge has rejected a motion to dismiss a case the tech giant is facing over the way consumers can “buy” or “rent” movies, TV shows and other content in the iTunes Store.

David Andino, the lead plaintiff in this case, alleges Apple reserves the right to terminate access to what consumers have “purchased,” and in fact, has done so on numerous occasions. This is reportedly often due to licensing issues or regional rights and can be done without warning.

In his statement rejecting the motion to dismiss this week, U.S. District Court Judge John Mendez says:

“Apple contends that ‘[n]o reasonable consumer would believe’ that purchased content would remain on the iTunes platform indefinitely. But in common usage, the term ‘buy’ means to acquire possession over something. It seems plausible, at least at the motion to dismiss stage, that reasonable consumers would expect their access couldn’t be revoked.”

The lawsuit reportedly leaves open the possibility of injunctive relief that could force Apple to change the way it sells content – either usage of the term ‘buy’ or ‘rent’, or adding clauses to their Terms & Conditions informing consumers they’re not really buying what they’re ‘buying’. Amazon is also reportedly facing a similar lawsuit over Prime Video purchases.

They can't this is not Apple TV + with its content, this is the iTunes VoD store with the buy/rent is the same for numerous other VoD providers.

There is no provision for continued access to content you have bought if a legal action to retract it takes place, except to provide you a refund or credit. The lawsuit is kinda meritless.

The judge may be correct that equivalent terminology of Buy/Sell is inaccurate and needs to be clarified. The plaintiff is not going to be able to get any money as the industry as a whole operates in the same manner.

I thought Blu-ray.com was gone, I don't think the Average Person had a clue. The only people that cared are on this Site. The Providers have to fix this if they want to Sell Movies and TV Shows. With Discs on the way out the Studios need to correct the Buy/Sell. I still say that this Content is on a Server and can be put anywhere....Your ISP or Local Server!

The poster said things "would be back to normal."

The picture I posted . . . That's normal!

Steedeel - you can bit*h, complain, rant and rave all you want. At least I follow what the Mods says are the rules. You on the other hand make it personal - that's against the rules.

This is a fairly unique forum with a large amount of observations and opinions. Given the insight this site bring to all the regulars/visitors (not just this thread) its was really missed when it was offline. Thanks to the all admins and mods who rebuilt it and have it running again.

You mean you don't all have physical back-ups of Blu-ray.com to peruse while the site was offline?
