Good job signing Moore, he is one of the better backups in the league. He could probably be a starter on a team with weapons.

On NFL Live, Steven Jackson said the Falcons are a RB away from winning the Super Bowl. I think we know where at least one guy is going next week

He did talk about a few teams though. He did say he's not a fan of "running back by committee", so that likely rules out several of these teams. Not to mention he wants a playoff contender, so Arizona is definitely out and (no offense to their fans) I imagine Miami is as well.

Quote:
MIAMI DOLPHINS:
Jackson said that he likes the weather in Miami and that they play in an outdoor stadium. The running back specifically mentioned that he likes the idea of playing on natural grass in an outdoor stadium because he’s played on artificial turf at home his whole career.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS:
The former Ram said that when he thinks of the Steelers, he thinks of Ben Roethlisberger, Lombardi Trophies, and how his style of play fits with Pittsburgh’s.

DENVER BRONCOS:
The running back said that to be able to play with one of the greatest quarterbacks who’s ever played the game in Peyton Manning would be great.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS:
Jackson spoke very highly of quarterback Andrew Luck and that he has a lot of upside. The running back then said that he thinks Luck needs help in the backfield.

NEW YORK JETS:
Even though Rex Ryan hasn’t been the best coach over the last few years, Jackson said that all of the players he knows that have played for Rex love him.

NEW YORK GIANTS:
After mentioning that he and quarterback Eli Manning were in the same 2004 draft class, Jackson said that he wouldn’t mind being a member on Manning’s third Super Bowl championship team.

GREEN BAY PACKERS:
Jackson mentioned four things when the Packers came up: Cheeseheads, Aaron Rodgers, Tradition, and Lambeau Field.

DETROIT LIONS:
The running back said that a reunion with his former head coach and the Lions current offensive coordinator, Scott Linehan, would be exciting. Jackson said that he excelled under his offense when he was the head coach in St. Louis from 2006-2008.

ATLANTA FALCONS:
Jackson spoke very highly of Atlanta but the final thing he said stood out. The running back said Atlanta is, “one good running back away from winning the super bowl.”

ARIZONA CARDINALS:
Jackson said joining the Cardinals and being able to play with Larry Fitzgerald would be fun.

I think the Falcons are the clear front runner for him with Indy being the wildcard.

And it's started....

Quote:
According to Fox Sports, the Baltimore Ravens have given an ultimatum to wide receiver Anquan Boldin: Take a pay cut or get released Tuesday.

The Ravens are looking to reduce Boldin's $7.5 million salary-cap number to increase their chances of re-signing free-agent linebacker Dannell Ellerbe and safety Ed Reed. Boldin, who played a big part in Baltimore's Super Bowl title run, is scheduled to earn $6 million in 2013.
They signed a mediocre QB propped by his receivers to a ridiculous contract, so now they don't have money to sign their D, so they have to cut their top receiver.

Falcons resigned S William Moore to a 5-year contract. It's expected to be near the top, which is currently $8 million/year for Eric Weddle.

Also, Steelers are releasing James Harrison.

Glad to see that the Steelers didn't budge on their stance. He's going to be 35 in a couple months. He has had multiple knee injuries and also had some back problems recently. The guy is starting to break down. I love the way he plays, but it does take a toll on your body after a while. Harrison played every down like it was his last. His toughness will be missed, but all good things eventually must come to an end. Wish him nothing but the best.

And as often as he went for other guy's heads, he made them play like it was their last as well.

Source - http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/90...eodis-mckelvin

Quote:
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Cornerback Leodis McKelvin is staying in Buffalo after the Bills reached an agreement to re-sign their 2008 first-round draft pick on Saturday.

A person familiar with the negotiations said McKelvin agreed to a four-year contract worth a little over $20 million. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Bills did not reveal the contract terms in announcing the agreement with McKelvin.

The deal was reached before McKelvin was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday.

The Bills need help at cornerback. Stephen Gilmore played just about every down but Aaron Williams, Justin Rogers and Leodis McKelvin combined for just two interceptions and nine passes defensed on 1,464 combined pass plays in 2012. Thirteen cornerbacks throughout the NFL surpassed those numbers themselves in hundreds of fewer snaps.

McKelvin had expressed interest in returning to Buffalo, though he was free to begin entertaining offers from other teams starting Saturday. That's when a three-day window opened allowing teams to contact prospective free agents to gauge their interest before the signing period began.

Selected 11th overall out of Troy, McKelvin has had difficulty maintaining a starting job in his five seasons in Buffalo.

Used mostly as a third cornerback last year, McKelvin had one interception in 13 games, including four starts. He missed the final three games because of a groin injury. Overall, he has six interceptions in 64 games, with only 33 starts.

McKelvin has made a bigger impact on special teams, having combined for four touchdowns returning kickoff and punts. Last year, he led the NFL averaging 18.7 punt return yards, and became the first Bills player to return two punts for touchdowns in one season. As a rookie, McKelvin set the single-season franchise record with 1,468 yards on kickoff returns.

The Bills were preparing to enter free agency lacking experienced depth at cornerback, especially after cutting veteran Terrence McGee last month. McKelvin will be given the opportunity to compete for a starting job opposite Stephon Gilmore, the team's first-round pick last year. Returning starter Aaron Williams struggled at the position last season.

McKelvin will be part of a defense that's going through a transition under new coach Doug Marrone, who takes over after Chan Gailey was fired in January following three losing seasons. Marrone has brought in an entirely new coaching staff, which includes former New York Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine in the same role in Buffalo.

The Bills have also cut veteran safety George Wilson and linebacker Nick Barnett this offseason, while defensive end Chris Kelsay and linebacker Shawne Merriman have announced their retirement.

General manager Buddy Nix had expressed interest in re-signing McKelvin. At the NFL combine last month, Nix listed McKelvin along with safety Jairus Byrd and guard Andy Levitre as the top three pending free agents he would like to keep.

The Bills placed the franchise tag on Byrd to retain his rights last week.

Levitre, a four-year starter, remains unsigned and is expected to test free agency.
I'm glad we were able to keep him. He's a mediocre corner, but he's a game changing punt returner.

Harvin doesn't want to play with Vikings

Quote:
April 22 is the first day of the Vikings offseason workouts at Winter Park and rest assured Percy Harvin won’t be there.

There has been a lot of speculation about Harvin’s future with the Vikings, and the wide receiver has refused to comment about the different reports.

However, the latest word from some good sources around the NFL is that Harvin, who missed the final seven regular-season games as well as the playoff game because of a serious ankle injury, has told the Vikings that he doesn’t want to play for them and wants to be traded.

Harvin’s relationship with the Vikings has been much-discussed, including rumors that he isn’t pleased with the coaches’ plans for him on offense and that he does not get along with the medical staff. Quite simply, it seemed as though Harvin wasn’t happy here, and that was made obvious when he didn’t hang around the team during their late-season push toward the playoffs while he rehabbed his ankle.

But he's an ELITE QB. He even said so! We'll see how elite he is with average to mediocre receivers trying to catch his poorly thrown passes.
