I may very well be more excited for this release than any other release in Blu-ray history. The PQ better be top notch 10, like on the same level as Avengers and Prometheus.

it looks like the US trilogy is missing the outer box with the bat symbol. both sets look to have identical content and bonus artbook

can anyone confirm? If so, i'm keen to with the UK set

When I streamed it using the CinemaNow app on my PS3 it was not in HD nor 5.1 sound. It looked pretty lame, also the entire framing was 2.39:1, no IMAX footage which is normal for digital downloads.

Me, I'm down with the Japanese version of the trilogy, it includes the black box with the Batman Logo (not the cowl) a film cell and a comic that no other version (I know of...) with these extras has. It costs more but its sweet....

And hears a pic...

G2 (BD) sized, no banner (part of the spec sheet), no rating logos.

And that's like how much in U.S. dollars? How do you communicate with those folks to buy anything? Even if you're signed up with Amazon elsewhere, you have to sign up there, right? Do you understand Japanese or do they have a page in English or ...

If you want to ensure yourself a copy on release day, your best bet would be to preorder and select in-store pickup as your delivery option. That way, you can pop on over to your selected store on 12/4 and they will have a copy reserved for you.
Unless i'm missing something, it does not give you the option to have store pick-up. When I go on their website, it says Store Pickup: Coming Soon

i used standard shipping by the way, it was free.
I pre-ordered the exclusive E.T. digibook way ahead of time and got "expedited" shipping for free and received it on the release date. I also pre-ordered The Dark Knight Rises steel book a while back and got "expedited" shipping for free, but I had to select it this time (the default was standard shipping). Not sure if the free expedited shipping is due to my silver rewards account or if they just offer it for a limited time. From past experience, standard shipping sucks. The one time I used standard shipping on Best Buy's site, it took about 10 days after the release date to receive it.

Hm, you're right. I went through the transaction last night with the BB Exclusive Trilogy and it allows for pickup, but the steel does not. I rescind that portion of my post.

Anyways, if you switch to expedited shipping, you may get it next Tuesday. Your best bet to be sure you have it on release day though would still just be to go preorder it in the store.

there are reviews on some other websites to answer question on audio/video quality. From what I read..41/2 video..5 star audio on the reliable sites. Audio is 5.1 DTS-HD. IMAX scenes are incorporated in video presentation.

Not per se, but I reckon the chances are 99% the US steelbook will be identical. I'm keeping it sealed, since I have a regular edition of TDKR already. Here's some pics of this too, though (includes a book):

K, fair enough. Thanks Bane on the back-how'd they **** up such an obvious choice but oh well, the film matters most and the front cover makes up for lousy rain on the back I suppose.

Just pre-ordered the steelbook using a $10 Reward Certificate I didn't even know I had. Makes the cost a little easier to swallow since I'm already getting the Batcowl version as well.

I've dealt with Best Buy.com price matching in the past, it's a very easy process, but, do they have a pre-order price match policy like Amazon? Or will I have to call them regardless?

Say the ad comes out and it's $22.99 release week, and they update the site to that price before my copy ships, will they automatically make the adjustment like Amazon would, or will I need to call?

I'm not too worried either way, like I said, Best Buy.com price match is very simple and quick, but it'd be nice to know.

European box set. Yeah, I assume the book's why they call it giftset.
