Nice room you have there. It looks like your speakers are behind your screen when it's pulled down. Is the screen acoustically transparent?

Yes, ill have to make some time to post up some pictures already...maybe this week i'll do it. And I got my 30's and they are stunning!! Even in there brand new non broke-in state the sound is huge and clean and even the bass is already quite obvious. In comparison to the RC-10's there is one main differance that i hear so far and its the bass, it sounds like a set of 10's with a small sub hooked up. Ive heard some reports of the bass sounding a bit boomy but I hear the opposite, those dual 5.5's sounds punchy and tight in this tower enclosure and i can't wait for these babies to break in!

not sure if the screen is acoustically transparent or not, but the screen is approx 18 inches in front of my speakers and approx 9 inches in front of the recess that my entertainment unit is in, so i gives lots of room for the sound to bounce and get out. plus, the room i have it in, is approx 20 feet X 12 feet, so the speakers rock the hell outta the room and the house. the sound is fantastic!!

I dunno why Pat but I knew you would love them and new they would fill your room easily as I said in a previous post thaty can fill a 900 sqaure feet room so paying almost double for the 50 is bit justifiable even if they were an insane bargain I think the price you got on those 30 is unbeatable.

Enjoy them now yoou really got me jealous

BigAl, i can't explain how much i love it. i have been such a movie buff my whole life, and now to have my own mini theater in my house with a sound system that will knock the socks off someone, i'm just in, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, pure heavenly bliss, lol.

yours is very nice as well!!! very clean looking, while mine, well can get a little messy, lol. if you are ever interested in getting a cheaper projector, like mine, let me know and i can give you a link for it. i got it from http://www.tigerdirect.ca. was only $1000, when i got it and its a little cheaper now. and the 120" screen was only $150.

actually, here is the link for it, it is now down to $950 cdn http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...433&CatId=4299

you know i would have really loved the 50's but i really must stay in budget....and you know even the RC10's had plenty of sound to fill my room with ease as well but the 30's do add a little something to the look and the sound. And i agree the price of these are unreal, if anyone is considering this deal jump cause these things are very well built.

thanks man, i can honestly say they are great....and i have no regrets cause i tried the Paradigms (which is the speakers i wanted from the begining, until i heard the CB-20 believe it or not). But still to be 100% sure i liked the energys more I decided to order a set of digm V6 minimonitors and ran those as fronts for about a month. and don't get me wrong they are a great speakers, they are definetly more efficient than the RC's and they image extremly well even during regular cable programming. but after noticing the harshness at higher volume and the bass limitations (yes the smaller RC-10 out punches them) i finally discovered like a true audiophile (and took me long enough to really hear it) how refined the RC's are and how a linear sound can really shine at higher volumes where the Paradigms would muddy up and im not talking exteme volumes either. Dam i want my Center, everone keep and eye out for that super deal! Sorry for the ramble, ive had a few beers...

The Digms are good speakers, the Mini Monitors are more in-line with the CB10s/20s in terms of performance. The Energy Connoissuers, PSB Image, and Paradigm Monitors are all in the same basic boat. The RC series you have purchased would be more inline with the Studios. In your case, I think it was the brightness/harshness you were referring to that you didn't like on the digms, where the Energys are more laidback and neutral-warm sounding. This is why lots of people on the site advise auditioning speakers.

Well all that matters is that you have what you love, and its something you can build around and keep for a long time. Remember that speakers can last 10-15+ years. So take care of your speakers and they will be awesome for years. There are people on this site that have speakers from the 70s and 80s..... Heck my dad has had his B&Ws for 12 yrs. I don't think he is looking at replacing them anytime soon either.

Heck next time I upgrade those speakers will be with me for a long time... that is why I have been auditioning for so long, they have to be perfect and do everything I want.
