Amazing for TWF if Ujicha has sold out this fast but dammit I’m on a movie buying freeze while I’m unemployed and I thought that would hang around like Cleopatra did so I wasn’t worried.

I asked TWF and it isn't OOP, just a stock issue. All the major retailers will have it back in stock soon.

Here’s what TWF said regarding FF:

I’d love a double pack of Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl, and Party 7.

So it sounds like a similar situation to what was mentioned about Nobuhiko Obayashi's other works then (where Hanagatami has to perform well if his other works were to be considered due to their length ~ for instance Labyrinth of Cinema is just under 3 hours runtime).

In that case I'll pick up Taste of Tea sooner than later (I took a break on grabbing tons of Asian films due to funds but I might be able to get some more films next month or the one after).

Still no word on why the sequel to Funky Forest - The Warped Forest - has never been released, anywhere (apart from out of respect for taste and decency, based on the trailer).
A FF/WF world-exclusive double-bill limited edition would surely command a premium! It would also be the most Third Window Filmsy Third Window Films release ever.

Is there a list anywhere of the OOP blu ray titles? I'm looking to fill any gaps I have and that would be a great place to start.

Off the top of my head the following:

Tetsuo: The Iron Man / Tetsuo II: Body Hammer (Limited Edition)
For Love’s Sake
Pink Films Vol 1 & 2
Pink Films Vol 3 & 4 - nearly OOP
New Directors from Japan - Can be got from Terracotta Distribution site
Kamikaze Girls(?)
Confessions(?)
The Woodsman & the Rain(?)
Toshiaki Toyoda: The Early Years (Limited Edition) - Not sure if this is OOP yet
The Legend of the Stardust Brothers (Limited edition) - This is nearly OOP
One Cut of the Dead (Limited Edition)

Mabe Adam can help with the (?) titles.

Having checked what's OOP etc, I've noticed that there's a longer 275 min TV show version of Love Exposure & am wondering if this version could get a release outside of Japan.

To my knowledge the OOP (or almost OOP) titles mentioned in previous posts were:

TWF060 - New Directors From Japan [Blu-ray & DVD combo, DVD-sized]

TWFBD001 - Kamikaze Girls
TWFBD002 - Memories of Matsuko
TWFBD003 - Confessions [the second rarest imo]
TWFBD008 - Tetsuo: The Iron Man / Tetsuo II: Body Hammer Limited Edition
TWFBD009 - The Woodsman and the Rain
TWFBD010 - Vulgaria
TWFBD011 - For Love's Sake [the most rarest imo]
TWFBD015 - The Story of Yonosuke
TWFBD016 - Pluto [expired last year]
TWFBD017 - Lesson of Evil [expired last year]
TWFBD019 - Han Gong-Ju
TWFBD042 - One Cut of the Dead Limited Edition
TWFBD046 - The Legend of the Stardust Brothers Limited Edition
TWFBD047 - Pink Films Vol. 1 & 2: Inflatable Sex Doll of the Wastelands & Gushing Prayer [500 unit run, hence going OOP faster]
TWFBD049 - Pink Films Vol. 3 & 4: Abnormal Family & Blue Film Woman [500 unit run, hence going OOP faster]

Thanks @fatboyslim142 and @NormanicGray. I have most of those already so hopefully won't be too hard to get the others.

This might help, it's not been updated recently and includes DVD titles too, but it's the Thirdwindow account over on Letterboxd;

For just blu-ray it's the below plus

TWFBD005 - Himizu
TWFBD021 - Ruined Heart (this will go OOP when stock runs out - about 100 copies left across retailers online and in-store)
TWFBD030 - Toshiaki Toyoda (this will go OOP when stock runs out - about 100 copies left across retailers online and in-store)

For TWFBD046 - Legend of the Stardust Brothers - This will be re-released as a blu-ray only version without slipcase or soundtrack CD

For Pink series - May release a 500 copy only version of Pink 1-6 at some point, but depends on costs and current sales to be honest!
Plus TWFBD049 - Pink 3 & 4 was a 1000 press. Still a few copies around at places like terracotta and arrow store. Around 30 copies left in warehouse.

Thanks for the quick updates! I had no idea Himizu was out of print (found a copy online which I presume is one of the last available) but I guess it makes sense given the other titles from that release window were OOP already.

Does Ruined Heart still come with the slipcover and OST these days?

Ruined heart was only ever released in 1 edition which was the slipcase/ost/booklet, so that’s all there is. Only 1000 copies, but obviously not a popular title (which is to be expected as it’s very experimental) as it has taken this long to shift them

Experimental, but I couldn't recommend it enough. And when it's gone, I guess it will be hard to get with such a small print run. This is what I said when I saw it:

Apparently the movie itself was also shot in 24 hours (!).

The introduction of the main players is done in such a beautiful scene and I was already sold before the film actually started. Although not all music is really my taste, I can get over that because it all contributes to the great vibe of the movie. As a bonus for me personally, the movie has a beautiful scene supported by Pachelbel's Canon in D. Not as mesmerizing as in My Sassy Girl, but that's a tall order .

It's a great release by Third Windows, the limited edition not only comes with a separate soundtrack (which will find it's way to the CD player of my car for the time being...), but one of the special features is 'Music Access', as they had with For Love's Sake, so you can quickly listen to a song again after you've seen the movie. Love it!

The New Directors From Japan set that's available on Terracotta's site is signed by the 3 directors.

Thank you for the heads up--I somehow missed both Toshiaki Toyoda and Ruined Heart the first time around. I ordered both this morning! RH is definitely in my zone and I'm excited to explore Toyoda's early features.

Edit: I also managed to grab the USA DVD of _9 Souls_ (£4 on eBay!) for the additional Tom Mes commentary as well as additional Toyoda interviews.

The Toyoda set is great. 9 Souls especially is a real hidden gem. And the wrestler doc is quite idiosyncratic and moving.
