Lionsgate might work with Paramount.

Since March 13, 2019 Lantern Entertainment the company is now Spyglass Media Group
Partial stakes in Spyglass acquired by Warner and Lionsgate in 2019 and 2021

All dimension films made after October 1st 2005 the distribution rigths are with Spyglass Media Group was previously Lantern Entertainment

Dimension films made before 1st October 2005 rights are with Paramount

Scream 4 is a 2011 film (Distributed by Dimension films)
As it's a film made after October 1st 2005 paramount don't have the rights

Before Lantern Entertainment became Spyglass Media Group

Lantern licenced out Rob Zombie Halloween (2007) to Cinedigm that why you got a steelbook release in 2018 from Cinedigm
Rob Zombie Halloween Films are The Weinstein Company and rights now are with Lionsgate

In July 2021, Spyglass sold most of The Weinstein Company's catalogue to Lionsgate giving Lionsgate a 20% equity stake in Spyglass

Scream 2022 is Spyglass Media Group production but they used Paramount to do the cinema distribution this is why home media release is with Paramount
Scream 2022 has nothing to do with The Weinstein Company catalouge

Scream 4 when that get's a re-release is not known yet but will be Lionsgate in USA when that happens

UK Scream 4 home media release was previously with Entertainment in Video

A home media re-release of Scream 4 when it happens will be lionsgate in UK

Is there a realistic chance of Scream 2 and 3 on UHD being announced for release by Paramount when they officially announce the home video release date for Scream 5?

I think a good indicator will be what happens this year. If Paramount are smart, they will put Scream 2 out for it's 25th anniversary. That's obviously going to take someone looking at the sales for Scream, which I assume were pretty good.

If they are really smart, they'll also tack Scream 3 onto the schedule with it, because it's not strong enough to wait until 2025 to release on its own.

But if neither release happens, then I think the best we can hope for is a box set from a licensee, like Shout/Scream Factory.

They should just release it all on a 4k package and get this over with. Disney should have did the same thing with the Pirate movies. The 'SAW' movies too.

Except that there are people who don't care about the sequel pirates movies or scream 3 and 4. Honestly at this point they really only have 2 releases left so they should just release those separately and maybe a box set of the original trilogy.

Hopefully when / if Scream 2 arrives, they'll make a cover with this poster to be consistent with the original:

Couldn't they sell the movie to Paramount? They really have nothing to gain with only one Scream movie, and a sequel at that.

They will license out existing discs to major studios.

They don't work with boutique labels, but they might deal with Paramount.

Terminator is StudioCanal's to license out, and isn't Halloween controlled by Compass? Lionsgate are just the monkey in those scenarios.

No reason to sell it. They bought it as a part of that package to bolster their film/tv lineup. Selling a popular movie does the opposite of that

The Uncut Gems Criterion notably says that it was licensed from Lionsgate rather than A24, so who knows.

I suspect it's mostly driven by nostalgia as this was the first R-rated and the first horror film I saw in theaters, and it was the first one I saw in a theater more than once, but I love that look for this film. It just feels right to me and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I just watched this disc last night for the first time as my sister-in-law had never seen it and I thought it looked excellent. Well worth the upgrade over the awful blu-ray I have.

Yup, and Lionsgate's license has since expired, with Compass/Trancas licensing full home video rights to Scream Factory.

Also, I finally got a nice copy of the UK UHD/BD combo from Zavvi, so if you're interested in owning both discs, that's the way to go. Just pray the package arrives undamaged.

The glass is what it is, Hong Kong actioners from back in the day used very similar lenses and Suspiria also has some very squished looking shots. It's practically a genre staple to use cruddy anamorphics.

So yeah we will get a scream complete set at somepoint)
