Has anyone replaced the power cord on the Paradigm Servo 15v2 or similar sub? Looking to upgrade mine, it's a bit bent out of shape and would like to see if this resolves the humming that often arrives. I've tried a ground loop previously and that made the humming much worse. $25 down the tube, but worth the try I guess. Power cable is next.

Cool

If anyone is curious what I upgraded my Monitor 11/CC-390 setup with . As previously mentioned, my ADP-390s are keeping me in the family for the moment.

The entire front stage

Replaced 2 x Monitor 11 + CC-390. Guess I shouldn't have deleted the before pics from my gallery

I def want to pick up a pair of the 100s after hearing them. Only problem is the price tag. They have them set at $3500 which is paradigms msrp. When i call another dealer they will not give me a price over the phone besides the msrp. I guess its one of paradigms rules. Which doesnt make to much sense to me. All he could tell me is that they offer them at his store for quite a bit less. But its 247 miles from me. So i am wondering what the going rate is for a pair so i can go to my dealer and tell them i can get them for "said price" at the next dealer closest to me and see if they will match the price. Any info would be helpful.

thanks
Don't know what you did yet, but call this guy back and tell him you are making a 200 mile + drive and will buy these speakers RIGHT NOW IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT. If he doesn't budge and won't give you a price below msrp. he must not need the business bad enough and he's making money in this lousy economy. That's what I would tell him, just my 2 cents.

Geez!!! I have read that using all towers for the front is best, but it looks like you can use three center channel for the front. That thing is huge!!

It's everything that I wanted and sounds awesome! For once I have no desire to switch out any of the speakers in that system, maybe add a couple of more but that's about it.

Wow Congrats man. I didn't know you got the S6's! I asked in the Ascend thread but I'm guessing the S2's went back down for surround use. Congrats again it's good to see after all the changes that your finally pretty happy with this now.. I know I would be!!

Unfortunately the S2's got sold, I would have loved to keep them as surrounds but the surrounds need to be wall mountable and the S2's are just too big for that in my space. Or I would have loved to keep them for my two channel system but my wife didn't want the cherry finish upstairs as it doesn't match the decor. I also sold my ADP 1's so I'm using the S1's and Atom Monitors, at some point in time I'll grab another set of S1's or the ADP 3's. Not sure which ones I would get.

Thanks for the compliment, everything is coming together except the room. Hopefully that will be taken care of in Feb.

Makes sense. I'm sure the Atoms as rear surrounds aren't as noticeable as the main surrounds would be. Some people can't even hear the difference with mismatching main surrounds. To me it is important.. I still have Energy's as my rears but they are rarely used.

I've been around checkin out the main page every now and then. I'm loving the Salk's.. been enjoying them quite a bit lately. I have heard the v2 S8's once but have heard the the v2 and v3 S6's quite a few times. Great speakers for sure especially the Be tweeter.. I always wanted Sig's for that reason but the RAAL tweeter on the Salk's was enough to get my mind off of them. Going off memory it is just as smooth as the Be's but without them side by side I couldn't tell you what I like better.. I will say that the RAAL's are amazing though.

So I was going to take my $600.00 starting budget and go with Polk so I can buy the whole front stage but was guided by someone here, we will call him my guardian angel , lol .

I'm going to use the $600.00 instead to buy two bookshelf monitor series for the fronts so that I can save up to get my monitor 11s for the for the front.

Does it matter if I have Monitor 11s version 7 speakers but I have a center from monitor line but version 6? My worry is that I save up for the monitor 11s but by the time I buy them it will take a few months for the center and by the time I get the center I don't want it to be a different version.

Yeah maybe it's a good thing you haven't heard them yet. I liked my Studio's but every time I went back to the Store those S6's were calling out for me. I've heard great things about the 95's analog but I'm honestly pretty happy with what I get from the 83. If it is that much better then I'm glad I haven't heard it yet. The Wish You Were Here SACD sounds amazing in both 5.1 and Stereo. Since your oppo does SACD's too you really gotta check it out.

The best thing you can do is just start by buying the v7s now. However if you were going to get the Bookshelfs in the v6, then buy the v7 center so you can match the M11 v7s later down the road. Its important that your front 3 match for movies and multi-channel music, it doesn't matter so much that the surrounds match.

So then you suggest I get the center before the towers correct ? Do I really need to go the high up to 11s if I'm going to have a dedicated sub? Will the monitor 7s be good enough?
