Wow, just wow. I spent a while trying to like Haze but Destiny has me staying up all night when I should be sleeping so I'm okay at work the next day. Like I told people at volleyball tonight, it can be frustrating at times but when it is rewarding, it is unbelievable. Nothing like it and I'm definitely addicted.

So it seems like for every queen bounty you do, you get to do another story quest for a legendary. That's 6 per day... per character.

Did 4 of the queens bounty and did 4 of the missions and got 4 legendary gear (2 helmets / 2 chest armor). Kept 1 and dismantled 3. Good stuff and finally getting some rewards even if it is the same missions and maps. They could at least let us skip the cutscenes though.

Halfway thru level 26.

I was going to say essentially this. And what do mission levels even mean? The Queen mission is a 24 and with Harlock and Dodgerblue, i got the same as the Daily Heroic Story. The Queen's mission was a toughie. Took a few tries at the end. The Daily I soloed with no trouble at all on level 28.

Agree 100%. Anyone who's done the Queen's missions have already seen the cutscene the first time when they were a level 2. No need to see it again.

Guys I'm at level 16 with the worst guns and defense as a hunter . What do you suggest. Also i only play by myself and can't even beat this one level 15 in the story by myself I'm not strong enough

There's a little more to the story though than just that simple single glance score. Haze was released early on in the PS3 gen way before we now get the type of games we do. Unlike Movies, the goalposts seem to shift every gen just a little, but essentially now since the end of PS3/360 we're seeing a more base level scoring system.

Think about this, somebody gave FF7 a 10 when it came out. What would a reviewer who's young give it today if they had to compare it to a modern finely tuned version AAA on PS4?

Some games are merely a product of their time. Heck, go look in the database of Blu-ray.com and what was deemed 'reference PQ' and you'll be shocked given how much better reference disks look today than in 2006/7.

Also, I hear Haze gets an extremely bad rap that's a little undeserved. Destiny is fun, but should that mean in a critical review system we can overlook and boost scores when story narrative is atrocious?

Gameplay for me is possibly half the experience in a game UNLESS the story told is absolutely sublime in which case the marks skew. In a game like Destiny however, I feel 5/10 for just the fun gameplay is reasonable. 1.5 then (for me personally) going towards the story based on how badly executed it was. Again, 6.5 is NOT a bad score by any means. Its a perfectly fine better than average score that deems something good, but maybe some people will find issue with.


I love playing, but I see the games shortcomings laid bare, and I agree with Gamespots written review for the most part. Destiny feels great to play, but unfortunately lacked that narrative punch games like Mass Effect had that made you care for the characters and story. So you're left simply to enjoy fun gameplay which for whatever reason is acting like crack and people say this too; the worlds look great. Great worldbuilders are Bungie, but in this instance at least, not very good story tellers. A huge misstep in narrative choice to build a 'next gen' "10 year franchise" by somewhat nickel and diming.

No need really, as this 'Queen's Wrath' doesn't really expand on her. It's just some new bounties to get new gear and playing the same missions we've already done.

Yeah despite the problems (few) I have with the game, it's still fun and addictive gameplay.

I agree that the 'Queen's Wrath' is a bit of a missed opportunity for Bungie. This as a chance to expand on things, yet what it ends up being is just different gear from playing the same missions. They could have at least given a couple new missions, but I guess that's why we have to pay for the expansions...

I'm just surprised that a game like this is coming from Bungie. I guess when it comes to a story they aren't really good at it since with Halo they at least had source material to try and reference from. But then again, this probably isn't Bungie's doing, but Activision.

that also bumped me up to lvl 24. also did some strikes with a few people and got a rare blue/orange shader which is cool.

so i guess i should repeat the queens mission and try to get the helmet. are those the only two rewards?

So far it looks like the helmet and chest piece are only guaranteed drops. I'm doing it just so I can dismantle them for shards which are helluva lot tougher to get. I need 6 of them per armour slot upgrade for chest. Got a couple of spots left there and then will start on arms and finish with legs. Hope to reach 30 asap so I can do the raid on hard too, but it's really tough.

Nice!

It appears that the helmet and chest pieces are the only armor that's been awarded so far. I've seen that some are getting a legendary sniper randomly as well.

I feel the Queen's Wrath content is catering to players like you and me that are in the 23 to 24 level range and low in legendary gear. I got both pieces of armor last night and couldn't be happier.
