I wish I had gotten this far into the thread before making my post above. I share the exact same sentiments as you.

They usually save Autumn for the biggest selling titles.

In the first two weeks of release, The Little Mermaid's Platinum Edition moved nearly 4.5 million copies.
In Peter Pan's first two weeks, about 2.75 million.

But Disney titles almost NEVER get reduced for sale pricing (at least their animated/family releases), so the best bet is to use a DMR coupon the first week of release or else buy it used.

Yeah, but after your five titles for a penny (or whatever), you need to buy the remaining titles at the full MSRP, correct? It's still cheaper to buy them with the DMR coupons.

umm, not when you AVERAGE then. grand total for sign up is 7 titles for $21.90... then buy two more at between $25-$35... depending on what promos go on. but most you pay is about $100 for 10 titles TOTAL... then average that out.

Totally with you. We are forced to get stuck with these crappy DTV sequels . Rescuers 1 & 2 both are exceptional classics. They deserve their double feature. However, Pocahontas should be left as a separate release.

Probably Fall of 2013 for Peter Pan.

2012 - Lady (Spring)/Cinderella (Fall)
2013 - Aladdin (Spring)/Peter Pan (Fall) (or Mermaid)
2014 - Mermaid (Spring) (or Peter Pan) /Jungle Book (Fall)
2015 - Dalmatians (Spring)/Sleeping Beauty (Fall)
2016 - Pinnochio (Spring)

I think they can fill the gap with other items like Mary Poppins and the like...

This timeline is totally perfect on the blu-ray front from Disney. We have a 3 year old so the continual flow at this sateg in her life couldn't be better.

Yes, but lets think about it this way, Disney could release the movie in theaters, People will remember how much they love the film and go see it in theatres, than months later in the spring release the Blu-ray and everyone will be wanting it more and there will be more of a demand for it.

Thank you!
They'll no doubt be used to fill gaps between the Diamond releases between now and 2016. There is a lot of material out there to convert over and at some point it all will:

I tend to agree that they will hold off on Mermaid till Fall of 2014 with the movie itself seeing a September run that will last at least into October. Dump Peter Pan on the market for Christmas then rake it in after the holidays.

Hopefully another country will release Pocahontas in a stand alone release. I will not buy the double feature and will import the stand alone elsewhere.

If you check the Pocahontas forum you'll see that a different country is receiving individual release, i believe it is Australia in April.

Thank you so much.

I'll pay whatever it takes to get an individual release.

Will The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad ever be released on blu-ray?I just want it for the Legend of Sleepy Hollow part; I've never even watched the Mr. Toad one before.

I sent an email to Disney Studios a couple weeks ago asking about The Hunchback of Notre Dame and when that would be released. But, they said they didn't have any scheduled release date for that one. It sucks because if I had to choose only one Disney movie to buy, that one would be it.

All of the movies should get a eventual release, but right now we don't have any rumors for either of those, and i could see hunchback being released before Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad.

Does that mean that Song of the South will be released in the future?

Sadly, I don't know, I know that i read last year, that disney remastered the movie, but that is all that they have done, just to preserve it, from what i've read they still are worried about releasing it. Its sad because its part of history, and they really should release it and not hide it and the thing about it is, Song of the south from what i've heard isn't really that racist. (I have yet to see it sadly)

It's not the slightest bit racist, unless you think showing a former slave in the reconstruction era in a hero role racist. Great movie, wish it would be released but I doubt it
