I'm not giving anyone grief or casting aspersions, but it's high time this thread got back on target. Let's talk PSA subwoofers only. If there's any other topic that needs to be addressed please do so in the appropriate location, be that in a new thread or an existing one associated to the particular topic in question. Let's allow PSA to have their place on blu-ray. We can do better then this guys...

Right now it's unhooked. I already had three other subs I needed to do reviews on. The first one is done, the second almost there. Once the third is finished I'll be looking deeper at the XS15.

I'm just suggesting we discuss PSA here, like the thread was intended to. I'm really not sure why that should be an issue with anyone. Is it so bad that this thread stay on topic?

HAHA! Nice collection of subs. The right front with all the screws, who makes that or is it a DIY?

Not DIY. As far as saying what it is? Well, you'll just have to watch the thread...

It is about a PSA sub, because hes trying to ask questions regarding the crossover settings for his PSA sub. Hey atleast this thread is at the top, so that more people might be interested in getting a PSA sub.

I wonder how the PSA XV15 stacks up against an Epik Empire or an HSU VTH 15F.

I think it is just because the RCA cable from the Onkyo sub out needs to be connected to the LFE rca input of sub. The LPF crossover would have no effect if you dont use the LFE input on sub. I keep my sub at 120hz in receiver on that LPF of LFE. I dont thing off would be good for that setting you would be turning off bass management and the LPF crossover in receiver. But it does not hurt to experiment with that setting to 80hz. The important thing is you want your sub frequency knob to be set at its highest point so you dont lose any of the LFE .1 track of a movie. At the sub.

Last thing if you set the LPF of LFE to 80hz in receiver and any of your other speakers to a higher crossover with the db slope of bass that will be sent to sub you wont be loosing much signal from your speakers to sub. It would be very slight only.
Mreilly thanks for the help. I did take your advise and my setup does sound better with the LPF of LFE set to 120Hz and sub dial all the way up.

Also thanks to TheJman for taking the time to answer my questions.

I know this has nothing to do with PSA sub. I just wanted to extend my thanks.

I believe it would blow away an empire and sound just as good as a vtf 15h.

That's the way I ended up setting my XV-15 also. Definitely sounds better.

Hello ALLIN my friend how are you.
I think the posts had to do with the PSA subs. as well as my Hsu's and others.
I follow this thread to learn about PSA brand subs. and in doing so learned some things I knew and some I didn't and don't feel I lost any time.
It started here about a PSA sub. and the heavy detail posts might of been finish on another thread but I might of missed the great info from all of you including Tom V.
I am completely satisfied with Hsu, but you never really know where your next upgrade might come from, could be a PSA.
The PSA XV15 looks to be a great sub. and I'm waiting to get more word from reviews.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. But bang for the buck has to be the PSA XV15..
