I've yet to receive mine from Amazon UK. It says on the message board that more recent pre-orderers will receive the code just before the beta starts.

I wouldn't worry too much. From what I've read and seen it looks as though most people are just 'fatigued' by Destiny news. Most of the playable demos are just from already seen video footage so there really hasn't been anything new for people to talk about. We've only seen a sample of a much bigger picture so I imagine the whole game is going to be killer.

Just checked out the gameplay trailer "The Devil's Lair" on the PS4 PSN.
Gotta say I'm not very impressed with what I saw. The graphics are identical to Ghosts and the AI was terrible. The voice-over narrative needs a triple-shot of espresso to, at least, slightly liven things up.
Just "meh" all-around, so far.

Bungie is still keeping so much of the game close to the chest. Destiny has been hyped since the debut trailer alongside the PS4 in February 2013. Bungie is trickling out a little info once in a while since then. If I was a journalist I'd be disappointed with an invite to the studio and could only playtest the 'Strike' mode in the newly released video. No story missions, pvp, customization, etc etc. There's so much more to the game that we don't know about.

I'm not sure about the quality of PSN videos but if you watch the E3 gameplay and the Strike gameplay in true 1080p you will appreciate how gorgeous the game is. Blows Ghosts away and superior to Battlefield.

And I have no idea why they're doing this. What do they gain by waiting until e3 to tell people only three months before launch what it is? Im going to call ot now and say it's too ambitious. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I really want more info on narrative and character customization. It's all been rather vague and ambiguous so far.

I feel the same way. I have never been able to understand the gaming industry with their "cloak and dagger" secrecy approach when it comes to showing gamers what they're working on. You'd think they were military contractors building WMD's or something.

Bungie is kind of like that music artist that reaches a point in their career where they feel they need to make their epic "signature" album and they pour all this time and money into all these experimental sounds and styles, only to find that it's met with mixed reviews and disappointing sales.

I imagine this is sort of what went down at both Bungie and Naughty Dog over the people who left or were fired LOL!! "I need 50,000 didgeridoos!!"

Sounds like you must play a few hours of single player to unlock the multiplayer.

Just a training mode, cut scenes, and story I am sure. Think Titanfall's beginning + an actual story.

I feel a bit underwhelmed by this game. I want it to be cutting edge like Halo was, but the graphics looks previous gen and I didn't see anything to get excited about.

I certainly hope I'm wrong.

Not really if you read the articles and quotes:
  • Get the game
  • Start a character
  • Go to PVP as quickly as possible
  • Get instantly demolished as you don't even have all your core abilities
  • Get disgruntled, bash bungie and the game to anyone and everyone

They even say - once you unlock PvP with one character, the restriction is gone. If you want to take a lvl 3 character without a decent weapon or even access to your super ability after the first time, feel free - you should already know what you are in for.

The goal here is to make sure that the characters are far enough in so that they aren't at a surprising and frustrating disadvantage in PvP just because they don't know any better.

I don't think that means you can't start a character and play coop with friends, it just keeps you out of competitive pvp activities.

I've been thinking about this a lot. There's very little information about the game. I'm assuming gameplay is like Borderlands but we're not sure. Bungie keeps saying we'll know everything at e3. Why are they waiting that long? The game launches 2 months later. They also put $500 million behind it. Five.......HUNDRED.......MILLION. They're also a rather influential company. Wouldn't it be great if they were the first company to bring SONY and MS together to see the greater benefit of cross company play? PSONE, 360, PS3 and PS4 all together. There's no longer a subscription model separating the two. If you're online you're paying for Live or Plus. With that much money and talent thrown at a game they would be the ones to come up with a system that mingles Live and Plus friends lists. Pipe dream I know but this is the one big thing I want out of e3.

Maybe I'm just too positive, but I think this looks awesome. It's the best Halo (1 and Reach) combined with my favorite shooter Borderlands. Part of Halo's appeal was its sleek, futuristic art design and Destiny's style is just as appealing to my eye.

I'm playing Titanfall, but I think I'm burning out on competitive shooters. Bring on more co-op.
