The movie was shot and finished on 35mm, but to me calling something a "DI" implies aspects of tweakery above and beyond colour correction. A new digital transfer is not always the same thing as a modern DI pipeline (depends how freaky the director wants to get, e.g. Blade Runner Final Cut truly did get a 4K DI for the restoration) but as I said upthread, so many of these processes get conflated with others that I'm fighting against the tide. And you say "digital intermediate 2K" in the video while the graphic flashes up as "4K", I guess that was just a slip of the tongue.

Thanks. All he says about color is it's "warmer". I hope not. I assume he means compared to the 4K-mastered blu-ray which was already warmer than the previous remastered blu-ray.

Stores are only getting 5-6 copies and usually only 1-2 of those can be reserved for pickup so they will actually have some to put on the shelves.

I just got denied a price match on Best Buy chat to match with Amazon. They said they can not price match pre orders. I did just check the policy and it does state that.

Never had any problems in the past.

A print? No. An IP? Possibly, although Sony still maintain that it came from original negative materials.

As I said in that same thread, if the UHD can reduce the "hard" digital look of the Mi4K Blu, toning down the edge halos and restoring some of that true filmic quality that we know UHD is capable of, then that'll do me fine regardless of what elements it was sourced from.

What's the deal with this and Amazon? My King Kong and F&F shipped but T5E hasn't moved and Amazon shows it as 'unavailable'.

Something wonky has been going on since Amazon first listed the title. I don't think it ever provided an estimated shipping date, which is always suspect. And now it says unavailable? Betcha Best Buy raises its SRP as soon as they find out about it.

As for me, I'll just keep my fingers crossed and impatiently wait. Two other items in my Amazon order for Tuesday have already shipped, but not this one.

Yeah, I'm curious if Amazon even actually has it. Order page still says 'arriving Tuesday' but my Tuesday releases always ship out on Sunday night. It's the title I most want from the batch as well. Should be interesting.

I hope if someone has an Amazon order that has shipped they post in here.

I appreciate the short videos. I'm not going there to hear the backstory of the movie and a full review of it, I'll get that from the back of the box, the trailer or another review. I go to your videos to hear about the audio/video and your commentary makes it entertaining. You're not afraid to say when a transfers garbage/not worth an upgrade or when a terrible movie's got a great 3D or 4K transfer.

It doesn't say Out of Stock. It says Currently Unavailable which means they've pulled the item. Something is going on. They better have a damn good reason for doing this the very damn day they are supposed to start shipping this to customers.

P.S.: As long as you've got it preordered you will get it for $19.96.
