Being excited by the first episode is like being excited for a movie based on the trailer. It's not for me, but I understand it. Who is anyone to say how anyone else feels?
Well, after 23 movies and 2 series, forgive me if I'm optimistic after one episode. I fully acknowledge that nothing lasts forever, and one day there will inevitably be MCU content I do not like, but today is not that day.

The first episode did a whole lot in telling me the tone and direction of the series and I like what they're doing very much. Could it end poorly? Of course. But like I said, when you combine their track record with my impression of the first episode, I stand by my "home run" call.

I don't criticize anyone for not liking something I do, but I do find it odd when someone negatively posts incessantly in a thread for something they don't like.

It puts the Infinity Stones and Thanos' quest into a new light- despite it being a massive, cataclysmic event in our timeline, it's little to nothing in others. To us, Thanos was the Mad Titan, but to other dimensions and characters, he's just some crazy dude or someone they've never even heard of.
Yes. I think the Infinity Saga and the "blip" will naturally have impact going forward, but for the most part I think they will want to move on from all that and into new territory with new obstacles to confront. I think they're demonstrating we've moved on from the infinity stones and onto other things.

I honestly think that scene just shows how powerful and/or necessary the TVA is to the timeline. If Thanos were to end up there, his attempts to get anything done would be just as futile as Loki's

After Endgame, me and my wife were talking about the fatigue. We weren't excited for Far from home. We weren't excited for the D+ shows. But they kept delivering.

Black Widow will be the first MCU movie we do not see in theaters, and that was the plan before D+ was a thing. But it's still going to be a day one event because of D+

The first episode is a hit. That is all anyone can comment on. If someone posts how they do not like something 10+ that is against the forum rules. People can post what they want. No one has to respond to them though.

I liked it. Only thing that felt off was the extremely futuristic society of time travelers using infinity stones as paperweights having storm troopers for guards and soldiers.

Regarding the idea of Thanos trying to raid the TVA for the stones (providing he knew that organization even existed) did they even HAVE all 6 stones? I didn't count the different types in the drawer, but the soul stone, given how it is acquired...did they have one?

There is a throwaway line in the beginning of the episode that I love! "So someone found a time machine and is trying to make some money." It's the "found a time machine" part....time travel either exists, or it doesn't....no matter which time you're from. If, at some point, someone does invent it, and build a functional machine, then it becomes possible for everyone, at all times, as long as they have a mechanism (machine or otherwise) to do so. So...you invent a time machine in the year 3000 AD, and go back to 1950 AD and die, leaving the machine there, someone else finds it and magically figures out how to use it....time travel in 1950.

That's why I really like that line.

I wonder what's up with those old dudes in brown suits with red sashes.

Also, I'm going to need a TVA pin.

I guess most people forget that Loki is a massively popular character within the MCU who’s fan base consist primarily of prepubescent girls and middle aged women— all due thanks to Hiddleston’s wildly attractive good looks. So I’m sure they could care less about the quality of the show itself.

People like to inflate their own opinions. Comments that agree with them are knowledgeable and articulate, dissenting opinions are from uniformed idiots with nothing valuable to contribute.

I stick to what I like, and share observations of those things. I'm not here to give some sort of inflated artistic critique in an attempt to validate my opinions to others. I'm just a person who likes certain things and would like to share my enjoyment with like minded people.

I'm definitely not here to advise people who enjoy a certain thing that it's in fact not worthy of liking and they should cease and desist. What in the world what be the point of that?

I like plenty of things besides Star Wars and the MCU, but I comment on those most because their current output is very high. I'm not sure if there is a thread for Le Samourai, but if there is, I don't expect it's actually bumping right now.

I couldn't care less if someone doesn't like something I do. I certainly respect the differing opinions, but trying to convince me I'm wrong for having a thought is what cracks me up. There's been a whole lot of trying to "correct" opinions lately, and I'm sure it's just a microcosm of how those people act everyday. But that's not how it works. I've never seen anyone, on this forum, or in real life, change someone's opinion by bashing them over the head with stuff. All the sanctimoniousness does is push people away from wanting to have legitimate, worthwhile conversations.

It felt more like the "Mr. DNA" sequence from Jurassic Park, down to the southern accent of the cartoon narrator.

It's pretty hard to imagine the tva as good people. I have a feeling they would also show up when a dictator or serial killer has second thoughts and decides not to commit horrible acts. They would then convict you of being guilty of not killing people and reset you so you go on and kill people.

It seems they had the power and ability to stop Thanos, but "it was supposed to happen", so they allowed it.

I wonder what that means for the futures that Dr. Strange saw

I'm saying it goes one step further to the point where thanos is up their with red skull trying to get the soul stone and decides he cant kill gamora and decides to give up on his mass xenocide plans then the time police would show up charge him with a crime erase him and put him back to wipe out half off all life.

I don't think the TVA is out there making sure we don't have free will. I think they're more about branching realities that drastically affect the timeline. They exist "out of time"
[Show spoiler]Wouldn't be surprised to see them as the tiny civilization in the Quantum Zone briefly seen in Ant-Man
, so they know the past, present and future and how it happens. I don't think they affect that timeline, but go after beings whose actions could affect that timeline
