Will have to make sure my 4k discs are readible. There are a few small scuffs from the crappy packaging. At least Universal learned to gloss up the cardbard that touches the disc surfaces on their Jurassic Park 4k book.

I can't f*cking believe this.

Tell me how I bought the UHD at the $29.99 price, left it wrapped in hopes of a price drop so I can get a difference in refund.

Then the UHD actually does drop in price to $24.99 a simple difference of five bucks. Coincidentally, the Stranger Things Season 2 UHD set completely SOLD OUT at my Target store.

Willingly, I go to Target in hopes of getting my refund.

I explain to the lady at guest services about the situation.

She tells me, "sorry we're not doing refunds at the moment. You can return your copy and exchange it for another copy at the new price."

Um. What?

First of all, there are no more copies available. Secondly, it's a Target Exclusive and I doubt there will be a restock. And thirdly, the sale ENDS on Saturday and you're not doing REFUNDS??

Like, how in the actual f*ck is that going to work?

Out of curiosity, I walked on over to the electronics department. All I saw were countless Season 1 sets and a few UHD copies of the first season. No Season 2 copies could be found. All of which were marked at the 19.99 and 29.99 price.

So is the Season 2 sale online only or what?

Total opposite happened to me. The CSR girl wanted to give me the price difference of $5.48 (w/ tax) onto a gift card. I told her that I just wanted to return it so I could rebuy it using Target Wallet to get my 20% coupon. Luckily, there were a few copies remaining at the store.

Popped in the disc and now watching it.

Though unfortunately, the pocket which stores the photos is ripped on the side.

Oh,well...guess it adds to the authenticity of it being used.

Nope. Not at all.

Watched a few scenes and it is f*cking sharp and crispy in detail.

Even has that extra added 'grain' which isn't noticeable on the Netflix streaming as it looks too smooth compared to the harsh almost filmic appearance as the UHD disc.

Nope. It's far better and we finally have lossless audio and HDR (basic HDR10, but it's a start) along with P3 color. Given that Netflix spread out the 9 episodes evenly on three discs, S2 has an overall higher bitrate too.


Both PQ and AQ are miles ahead of the crappy, low bitrate streamed version. Though only 5.1, the lossless track has a kind of breadth and depth to the atmospherics in the surround mix that is often hidden in the lossy DD version. The bass is pulsating and intense, especially in the electronica score, though not at BR 2049 levels.


This show would have been great in Atmos.

Most stores won't do any kind of price matching, even with their own stuff, to Black Friday sales. Black Friday prices are usually exempt because of the possibility of huge discounts. I know in this case it's only $5, but it's usually store policy.
