Jomari,

Mine is the 12" model. It is the loudest subwoofer in the room. Currently, the gain is around 35%-40%. Did you see my post #278?

EDIT: Use a Y adapter (2 male, 1 female) and connect the sub cable to both the Left and the Right inputs on the back of the subwoofer. You will get a gain of up to 5 or 6 dB's.

jomari, when i first got mine it didn't seem as powerful as the sony one i had before. I turned it all the way up too and then after a little while I was like whoa, that is too much, try music and movies, also it may just be that it sounds different then the old one, that is what I had to get used to too. if you put your head behind the sub, does it seem like its working right? that is what I noticed first.... for the first 2 days i was getting on my stomach right in front of the sub just to make sure it was on... now i know its there. I really think that the amp and sub have to break in, thoroughly.

Also I examined mine very carefully. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the construction or parts that were out of place. I hope his sub is not defective. That can happen with mass production these days.

Sorry, you are correct. That is for connecting two subwoofers to the receiver. I have so many subwoofers and so many cables that I had forgotten that. You need a different Y adapter (2 male, 1 female). I thought they had included this.

It is only 94 cents. If that is all you are going to order, you will be better off buying a Y adapter locally.

I'll just get one from Best Buy, I have $10 RZ just lying around, I can get one for free - although I still haven't opened mine, but I thought it came with the adapter! Whoops, I misread this thread earlier then,

You really don't need a spreadsheet for calibrating your sub. Go to the end of the original post in A Guide to Subwoofers. This is explained there. In addition, you will see links to free test tones.

There is also a thread on Calibrating Your Subwoofer with the Velodyne SMS-1 Equalizer/Analyzer.

Honestly, no. It looks like it dropped your fronts down as far as they would go. Are you setting the mic in a seating position? Are you putting it very close to the front soundstage and far away from the surrounds?

The other possibility is that your surrounds aren't nearly as sensitive as your front soundstage. What are you running? *Edit* Ah, Klipsch all the way around. It shouldn't have that big of a discrepancy. I'd run it again. You may need to lower the gain on your sub a bit more.

my speakers are listed in my signature. I am only using 2 of the surrounds, I put the mic in the middle of the room about 2 feet infront of the surrounds just cause my seating positions are all over the place.

I have the gain on the subwoofer set at 12 o'clock (50%)

It seems while audyssey is running, the surrounds are loudest of any speaker, could be cause there are 2 tweeters on each one, compared to 1 tweeter on the other 3 speakers.

You need to put the mic in your primary seating positions. It usually takes 3 or more measurements.

I know, I put the mic where I show it and then I move it 3 feet to the right and then 3 feet to the left. All seats are used equel so I just use the middle of the room. I am still wondering why the front 3 speakers were -12db. Does it seem like something is wrong?

I need to order a rca coaxial cable for the sub from monoprice anyway so I minds well get one now if I need it...
