I have brought it up a few times but nobody seems arsed about it? It’s coming for sure, too many big corporations are working on it.

‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ With ‘Magical Movie Mode’ to Bow on Disc and Digital Aug. 17

The 2001 family film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone will be released on digital, Blu-ray and DVD Aug. 17 with “Magical Movie Mode,” a new way to experience the film, from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment for its 20th anniversary.

The “Harry Potter Magical Movie Mode” allows fans the ability to discover filmmaking secrets, spell incantations, creatures, magical artifacts, trivia, and more in a collection of activities and curiosities. “Magical Movie Mode” includes director’s commentary from director Chris Columbus offering candid insight and amusing anecdotes from the production of the first film, deleted scenes, quizzes testing knowledge of a vast array of topics from the film, graphics, and audio during select scenes in the film.

Watched the "Bootleg" version of Almost Famous on 4K disc today and it was awesome. I think it's one of the better coming of age stories out there.

As for my next binge, I just started "Lisey's Story" on Apple TV+. It's the Stephen King adaptation. It's in 4K DV / Atmos. I gotta say, Julianne Moore still looks great!

Thanks for that, the trailer looked interesting. In anticipation of adding the ATV 4K to my devices I have added ATV+ to my watch list then added Lisey's Story.

And it looks like Stephen King adapted the entire series. It says "Teleplay" by, so that's pretty cool. I watched the first two episodes last night and it's a really creepy show in addition to being quite bloody/brutal.

I just finished Mr Mercedes which was worth checking out even though it lost a little steam towards the end in my mind. Brendan Gleeson and the actress that played Holly Gibney were both excellent in it though.

I started His Dark Materials, which has easily grabbed my attention as I love what I am seeing and hearing so far. 3 episodes in and the production values and technical merits of the show are outstanding. Glad I grabbed the second season already when it was on sale.

I loved the first 2 seasons of Mr. Mercedes but have not seen season 3. It was never available via a streaming service that I subscribed to, yet only got a DVD release for sale, but I did not want to buy the discs. I hope to see it at some point, though.

Did you buy the U.S. edition? Which player did you watch the extended "bootleg" cut on? I have read in the Almost Famous 4K thread that some members are having playback problems with this cut.

Yeah, it's the U.S. 4K disc steelbook from Paramount. I had no problems with playback at all. I use a Sony BDP-X800M2.

Haven't upgraded my blu ray of Almost Famous yet but I like the movie.
