I've got a quick question - does visiting a "real" IMAX really make any difference for a movie like this since it's digital? I've got the option to see this at the Navy Pier IMAX next week because I have to make a trip to Chicago, but I'm just wondering if there's truly any advantage, other than a slightly bigger screen for this. The IMAX in Springfield where I'm at now is actually quite big, maybe 10 feet less on the dimensions that Navy Pier but still quite nice in its own right, but I'm not sure if they ever showed IMAX films there.

Don't read if you don't want post credits spoilers:

[Show spoiler]Loved seeing Howard in that video and can't wait to see him on the big screen on Sunday but I'm wondering what the plan for him ultimately is. I doubt they would feature him in his own film again but I think an adaptation of the Fear Itself: Fearsome Four story line (with a few possible character tweaks and a slight story line tweak) would fit in very well with the rest of the MCU.

A++++++++++++!!!!!!

I had high expectations for this film and Guardians was way better than my expectations. Best, best comic book film ever - definitely hundred times better than The Avengers too.

Amazing, amazing film. It's a movie you dont want to end. Everyone was perfect - absolutely everyone, from the lead roles, to the supporting roles, and to the cameo roles.

Also, I cant think of any other superhero movie with perfect casting, excellent directing, was totally tear-dripping moving, as well as being the funniest - all combining beautifully as what comic book films should be.

Now Disney better let Gun direct one of the Star Wars films.

Im not too familiar with the comic, but the only character that I have read in other comics was Drax the Destroyer and I have to say that Bautista did a more than phenomenal job bringing Drax to life - he was just perfect as Drax. He owned Drax.

I saw the film in 2D Atmos - Definitely an incredible experience!

Besides the scene after the credits, make sure to read the final credit line - the "no harming any ....." line.

As an EXTRA benefit for those who see the film in IMAX 3D, we will be changing aspect ratios throughout the film in a way that makes the experience even fuller and more encompassing. I've personally chosen all the places where the changes occur and, again, I love how it's coming along. The changing aspect ratios in this case are actually a part of the storytelling.

A bit more about the 3D conversion is also included with the abover information here: https://www.facebook.com/jgunn/posts/10152466527914570

Personally I booked my IMAX tickets a few weeks ago, seeing it tomorrow night and I can't wait.

I only wished there was more Nebula if I had any problem with this film.

By the way, Lee Pace's Ronin was awesome - he was channeling a David Warner Tronish type villain of the 1980s - very cool!

Came across a new international trailer on youtube. Don't know if someone had posted it, but here you go. Unfortunately, it's not in English:

It's actually an even bigger spoiler than
[Show spoiler]Howard the Duck
, believe it or not.

[Show spoiler]Groot dies, but Rocket replants a tiny piece of him. Baby Groot grows and starts dancing. For some reason, they're keeping it a secret from the other team members, so he doesn't dance when Grax looks in his direction.

Oh, I see. Is there a scene in the movie that would have been better as a mid-credits scene, or one that would have been better as an after-credits scene, then the ones that are the mid-credits scene and after-credits scene ?

About Thanos...

[Show spoiler] Here's a leaked image of Josh Brolin as Thanos. It looks great to me, but it's funny how some people are complaining that he doesn't look exactly the way he did in The Avengers stinger. You can hardly tell the difference. Sure, it's a different actor, but aside from that, and maybe a slight color shift, there's practically no difference.

If you can accept Don Cheadle as replacement for Terence Howard, who look nothing alike, I think you should be okay with this.

Yeah, we barely saw a profile shot of him in The Avengers. I agree with you, it's not a concern.

I'm just curious as to what you would know as the answer to that about if there is scenes in the movie, that would be better as a mid-credits scene and one that would be better as an after-credits scene then what the mid and after credit scenes turned out to be.

No, the movie is fine as it is. One of my Top Three of the year so far.

Still thinking about this film - it really is a comic book movie masterpiece - Gunn has pulled in all the best elements of Marvel superhero flicks, the tone of the 1980s sci-fi/fantasy/action flicks (bonus for having a lovable memorable character played by a wrestler), OT Star Wars, old and new Star Treks, Dr. Who, Hellboys, and Firefly.

I don't really follow wrestling, so Dave Bautista was low on my radar. He really was one of the standouts (among many!) in this film.

Hmmmm... well, just got back from my 1st screening. Can't say as I'm too impressed with it. I really didn't feel connected to most of the characters at all. There were a couple of pretty cool battle scene moments, but otherwise I found it rather bland in every way to be honest. I'd say that it currently sits bottom 3 of the MCU for me.

As of right now it's a 3/5. I'll wait to rate it officially in the poll though until after my viewing later tonight.

I'll have to come back after tomorrow's viewing to let you know if my mind changes.
