Thanks Bob and a very Happy New Year to you and yours.

Given your list of the (sadly) unavailable 3-D films above, how many are left that you are realistically going to be able to restore and release? I know we've got a few Kino releases to look forward to in the near future so am very grateful for those...

What the devil could the 2 vintage releases be? In any event the 3DFA is a diamond in the rough..and like John Lee Hooker said.. They're bad like Jesse James!

Thank you.

At this very moment, there are six confirmed vintage titles in the restoration pipeline and two more possible titles.

Does this include what has already been announced, Wings of the Hawk, Dynasty, and Revenge of the Shogun Women?

It includes SHOGUN WOMEN which is next on the stereoscopic operating table. We've held off hoping to find better elements on the first few minutes of reel one to no avail.

We'll have to make the best of what we have and don't want to delay this one any longer.

That's great to hear Bob, and good to know your 3-D plate is still looking pretty full. Please pass on my thanks to rest of the 3DFA team and again, I wish you all the best for a happy and healthy 2021.

I know that you might not be able at this time to answer my next question, but I'll ask it anyway:

Are any of those six and two from the 1952/1955 "Golden Age"?

I don't know the answer at this time. If we can secure multi-region rights, we always do.

Region free 3-D Blu-ray players are available.

I keep getting this same question.

From my update earlier today:

Quote:
On films that we own, such as The Mask, 3-D Rarities, The Bubble, The Stewardesses, etc, we have always made them region free. But if a title is region locked, that's because the copyright holder and studio legal departments will simply not license the film for a region free release. Again, we have tried. So it becomes a matter of restoring it for Region A only - or not at all. Thankfully, region free 3-D Blu-ray players are available.

Understood, I just meant of those 6 films you mentioned, could any of them be region free. Obviously, I don’t know how far down the pipe these titles are. I know your stance on them and understand it. I knew at least 4 were locked from previous comments.

I was really hoping for a more optimistic outlook on the prospects of The Glass Web, I the Jury, Frankenstein's Bloody Terror, and Hondo, but it's great news that there are 5 more unknowns committed. Hannah Lee seems like a possibility. I assume Domo Arigato is as well, and the rest are MGM's holdings.

Bob has layed out the situation plainly. I for one am not going to tilt at windmills over properties.that will not have the cooperation of their title owner. I am only going to focus my energies on what we can reasonably to obtain from the 3DFA to possible the WB & Disney titles that the studios already spent millions on 3D conversion.I just don’t see next years titles adding that extra expense to their budgets. This is 2021’s norm.

The response to yesterday's post was overwhelming. As a result of your interest in our work, we are considering a live one hour chat on Facebook. It would happen in the next week or two and we can answer your questions about past and future projects.

Would anyone be interested in participating?

I don't do Facebook personally, but I look forward to hearing a recap of any and all hints you may drop relating to future projects.

Also, count me in for the Owensby films should you decide to pursue them more aggressively. Those are probably my most wanted titles now. Really hoping that they happen!

For sure.

We'd love to eventually restore the Owensby films but they're not a high priority right now. Most survive but HYPERSPACE is lost. Sad too because I saw a print in the early 90s at Chris Condon's Vagabond Theatre in LA.

Disappointing. Maybe Vinegar Syndrome will pick it up? I don't suppose anyone would call it a 'good movie', but it is a wild ride, and I would like to go again.

Very sorry to hear that. I hope that print turns up, because there probably weren't many. Among Owensby films, it was one I thought would be more interesting, and perhaps among the most commercially viable of those titles.

I'm very pleased to see 3DFA continuing to work away, in spite of how poorly the technology has been supported by others in the industry. It's always a little disappointing to see some of my most sought after titles in the 'not happening' list, but I'll take what I can get.

Anyway, there's more than enough to look forward to, so I'll wish you another successful year. I hope these releases all pan out and sell really well, and I wish you the very best of luck in getting more titles lined up. Maybe there'll be a breakthrough. I really appreciate the tenacity it has taken for you to get this far.
