I agree, I love H2 (1981). But definitely looking forward for the new one.

Same here, horror movies are also the majority of what I buy on BD . Halloween is also my favorite holiday & time of the year.

i end up watching Halloween 2 more than the original simply because Jamie Lee doesnt scream her head off in it.

I hate the fact that she is barely in it and asleep for the most part. Wasted opportunity.

Just in case you need to brush up (I, shockingly, have a friend who has never seen the original. This will change ASAP) or just want to see it on the big screen, the original is getting a theatrical run: http://www.cinelifeentertainment.com...h-anniversary/

there is literally no tension and suspense in this. this is at best a terrible imitation of the original.

so if you're gonna retcon it out of existence.... I love you blumhouse.
That's what I've been preaching ever since. The cinematography is nice and the score, although it's a bit too much electro for my taste. But that's about it, really. Laurie is barely in it and sleeping the whole time with a ridiculous wig. Michael looks wimpy and walks like a robot, also that scalpel looks stupid in his hand. Loomis recycles his entire dialog from the first film. The deserted and dark hospital is beyong stupid, not believable at all! And since when does a car not start just because it's got flat tires?! Yeah, this movie is a poor attempt to mimic the brilliant original.

The hospital is dark because there's a deleted scene (included in the TV cut) where the power goes out, likely because Michael cut it.

I know. They should have kept it. Now, it just seems like a bad, lazy decision that was made during the screenwriting stage.

Dang, plenty of locations but nothing in New York City even. I will probably watch the first 3 on Blu, maybe Resurrection as well, before this comes out (I got the complete collection Blu about a month ago, have never seen 2, 3, or Resurrection, and it's been over a decade since I've seen the original and only on a presumably edited AMC television broadcast- would've been cool to see on the big screen).

Their placement of movies is weird. They have one movie house listed as "Playing in Seattle" but the theater is about 90 miles away from town. That's not "Seattle".

That was always my issue. Even if there was a power cut, where are all the patients and staff?

This is just an issue NOW? It's a piece of crap small-town hospital. It's always been implied that he killed the power.

As far as mimicking the original, remember that JC and Debra Hill did NOT want to even make a sequel, but the studio paid them millions to make it work, which is why Rosenthal directed some of it (I know JC came in and directed parts) along with composing the score, co-writing it, and producing it.

No, it was always a issue. That’s what I typed.
