The new Veritas line looks suspiciously similar to the old RC line both cosmetically and somewhat in name. All brought to you at a higher price. See:

Energy stated they had abandone the Veritas line because of really high cost for the consumer, let's not forget they are being mass produce, they might come up with an RC-line that is more cost effective as well. I the sub certainly does not have much improvement over the previous Veritas Sub it looks Exactly the same and has Excatly the same specs but again could use different damping material, I mean look at the Entire Dali lineup, they all look the same except for the ribbon teeter on some models. I sure will be able to listen to them very soon. ![]() Last edited by BigAl87; 09-11-2010 at 02:38 PM. |

I'm sure the new Veritas will be every bit as good and more likely a somewhat better speaker line than the RCs that they replace (some of the specs are marginally better). But the new Veritas are surely directly lineal from the RCs. Energy (or likely the Klipsch Group) is apparently using its name Veritas for the new line in an attempt to elevate a development in the RC speaker line to levels that it appears does not in truth belong. Who knows, if in a few years in the future if I can get these speakers (in Rosenut) at the deep discount at which I purchased my RCs (about 40% of MSRP & free shipping) I might be thinking of upgrading. But then it took 34 years for me to upgrade from my old 5-way Pioneer CS-99As.

in looking at the specs, they are definetly a step up from the RCs, as I was told when I talked with Energy Reps, Klipsch's only involvement is that Energy and Mirage and Jamo account for the $$ they spend in R&D, Otherwise they have full control. The only other thing Klipsch asks is that the speakers are built in China to keep the cost of MFG lower.
Yes they took some things from the RC line, but I would reason that that is because the main Engineer right now who took over for John T. Originally built the RCs, so he probably has a liking for the Kevlar material. Look at B&W, they use Kevlar on all their speakers also, and they all look the same, does that mean the 800 series isn't better then the CM or the CM better then the 600? Also the new Veritas has the neodymium motor with heat sink, that no recent speaker has had, so this is a new addition and I bet adds more to the upper mid-range smoothness and detail and transperency. I would almost expect an RC speaker that fills the $1500 gap and a $600+ center channel. Similar to what PSB does with their Imagine line.... BUT WHO KNOWS.... maybe this is it for the next 5 yrs. |

Hi Everyone, I wish to join the ranks of Energy speaker owners. I have had my speakers for a few years already but did not know of this site let alone this thread until recently. Very enjoyable and loaded with awesome info.
Here's how I became a "proud" energy owner. As an employee of Future Shop at the time, I was able to take advantage of a great staff only promotion from energy which ran in the summer of '07. I was able to get my dream RC package at extraordinary pricing of 75% off of retail cost. How could I say no to that? Here's what I got: a pair of RC-30s, RC-LCR center, 2 RC-R surrounds and a S10.3 sub. I think I paid just under a grand for it all tax in. Its been over 3 yrs and my speakers STILL continue to impress me. As an avid audiophile from way back to the late 70's in my high school days and having had several speaker systems over the years (Sansui, JBL to name a few), Energy speakers produce the most natural reproduction of vocals that I have ever heard. Looking forward to talking speakers with all of you guys. Cheers! ![]() |

![]() Have you Heard Totem and Dynaudio Speakers? I not saying you would change your mind about Energy cause their RC line is awesome and I own a Conoisseur setup myself I am steping it notch and I have ordered just recently a pair of Totem Rainmaker, I have been talking about that for quite a while now and Totem is made in Canada. ![]() You will realise that Callas and I have the same taste and we love just about the same speaker and I don't think it's a coincidence. |

I really enjoy my Energys, They have served me great for the past 3 yrs. Glad you are happy with them. The RCs are nice speakers from what everyone tells me. I like Oliver am looking at upgrading out of the Energy tho. I believe that I will be buying Dynaudio Excite X16s and a X22, I will be pairing them with a Marantz receiver and will add a Naim 5i Integrated Amp sometime down the road for 2-channel music. To which I want to add a Rega or Pro-ject TT and an NAD CD player. I think the CD player will happen first, and then the TT and IA later. I do have to say that looking at the Veritas line makes me really want to hear them, just in case they sound better then the Dyns..... but I think that would be very hard. |

![]() Actually Rhetts dealer told me the X32s and X16s are pretty similar, but the 32s have a little more slam in the low end. Mid-range and Highs are IDENTICAL. |
