Koimoi is India's leading entertainment portal that provides latest Bollywood, Hollywood & celeb news, updates, gossips, reviews, box office information.

So wouldn't that just be gossip? There is rumors that Disney won't be using her again and or she is done with future marvel efforts. These internet rags are not that trustworthy you know.

Amazon’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ TV Series Reveals First Look and Premiere Date - Hollywood Reporter 8/2

Quote:
Ready for your first new look at Middle-earth in seven years?

Amazon’s ambitious The Lord of the Rings TV series finally has a confirmed premiere date, plus has released its first photo.

The debut season of LOTR will premiere Friday, Sept. 2, 2022 on Prime Video and it will air in 240 territories around the world.

It’s a longer wait than most expected. Amazon Studios chief Jennifer Salke previously told The Hollywood Reporter the “hope” was to have the show on the air in 2021, but that was before the coronavirus pandemic disrupted filmmaking.

“As Bilbo says, ‘Now I think I am quite ready to go on another journey,’” said showrunners J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay. “Living and breathing Middle-earth these many months has been the adventure of a lifetime. We cannot wait for fans to have the chance to do so as well.”

“I can’t express enough just how excited we all are to take our global audience on a new and epic journey through Middle-earth!” added Salke. “Our talented producers, cast, creative, and production teams have worked tirelessly in New Zealand to bring this untold and awe-inspiring vision to life.”

The above photo is from the show’s first episode, but the studio is not identifying the character or actor at this time (so let the speculation begin). Still, it represents the first new look inside J.R.R. Tolkien’s universe in film form since Peter Jackson’s final The Hobbit film was released in 2014.

The project represents a massive initiative for the company. The Hollywood Reporter previously confirmed that Amazon will spend roughly $465 million for just the first season of the show – and the studio has committed to multiple seasons. The numbers make LOTR the most expensive television show of all time.

The official description: The Lord of the Rings “brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.”

The ensemble cast includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman and Sara Zwangobani.

The latest on the lawsuit

Quote:
Matt Belloni discusses the lawsuit in his newsletter publication, What I’m Hearing. In it, the former THR editor notes that Johansson never thought she would have to file a lawsuit against the company, adding that she was anxious it would damage her career and plaster her as the public face of the whole ordeal. Belloni continues to state that the Black Widow star’s agent, who has been with her since her character’s debut in Iron Man 2, was keen to stand up for her rights and what she was owed. See his discussion here:
Quote:
"First, [Bryan] Lourd [Scarlett Johansson's agent] is particularly close to and protective of Johansson. He’s represented her since 2008, guided her through the Marvel movies, the box office bona fides with 2014’s Lucy, and last year’s double Oscar nominations for Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit. Johansson never thought this lawsuit would end up having to be filed, and no one on the team was particularly anxious to pull the trigger, knowing it would generate international headlines, might hurt her ability to work, and would turn her into the public face of the debate, possibly for years to come. There’s a reason that stars in their prime almost never sue, and some are already comparing her to Olivia de Haviland, whose lawsuit brought down the studio system. That’s a bit hyperbolic, but it’s a big deal. And Lourd, having made what I’m told were more than a dozen private attempts to resolve this matter over several months, was a strong advocate for standing up for her rights."
Interesting looking back at this.

Apparently not ALL of them.

If you are in some way referring to your recent hiatus, that was entirely your own doing. You also forget that most of us here use both physical media and digital. My digital collection surpassed yours some time ago making me more of a digital supporter than you. There are only a few members that frequent this thread that are solely in one camp or the other with you being one of those extremists yourself.

As for the Fandingo merger with Vudu, it had no impact on me. Hopefully, it goes off without many hitches although some Fandingo users are grumbling about missing content, content now being in the wrong aspect ratio, and being sourced from an older inferior scan. Some are celebrating resolution upgrades while others are mourning losses and unwanted changes for the worse.

I don't have to worry about any such arbitrary and adverse alterations happening to my discs; no corporate closures or mergers will ever impact my discs. It's among the things that I like so much about them: they are immutable, they stay put, and I have full control over what happens to them.

Welcome back again, you digital person you. You're not quite what I was hoping for in a hologram, but I suppose you're a start.

It appears to me most are still here. I just added the Apple TV 4K (2021) to my collection. Had to depart for a couple of weeks so has not been setup. The difference between you and some of us, we desire a much more diverse selection of content for learning and entertainment.

I didn't have that many titles on FandangoNOW, so it didn't take long to port over to VUDU.

The only thing I KNOW is in my Fandango account is Pride and Prejudice which I have on disc.

Regardless, I thought If I did the merge thing it would help but ... They had 2 ways to do it and neither one worked so I guess I can just go ahead and forget Fandango.

I recently went through my Vudu and made a "list" using the handy lists feature of anything that I don't have in some other streaming service and it's about 50 out of 9xx.

Mostly my online basket is iTUnes and I love how it's instantly available for the whole family. It's not perfect but it's cool.

I survived another arduous (for me) shopping trip with my sister and I rewarded myself with a nice new shiny 4K disc:

I paid the release day price for this one $29.96. It more than balances out with all the bargains I got during the Criterion sale. I bought 15 titles before it ended adding these 9 at the very last moment:

Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai
L'avventura
Gunfighter
Beau Travail
Vampyr
Death In Venice
Dry White Season
Vie De Jesus
Blow-Up

Someday, I need to learn how to post those little cover art thumbnail images that link to the blu-ray.com webpage about each movie AND that allows you to post the little images side by side.

In the advanced reply window there is an icon next to the spoiler tag icon that looks like this [BD]. Click that and it will add tags similar to this [BD][BD]. Then navigate to the blu-ray.com page for the movie you want to add. In the URL there will be a number like this:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Ghost...murai-Blu-ray/39498/

Copy that number and place it between the [BD] tags. Then just keep adding the tags next to that one and it will look like this:

Watched my 4K disc copy of the animated Transformers movie (1986) and the DV looked great. They looked to have done some additional restoration work on it, because even though there's grain, the image is remarkably clean. In a good way! There's no artificial de-graining or any nonsense like that.
