Well, if you are going to eat it, then I would suggest it being someone else's, wouldn't you? It'd be like making love to someone in your own family... it's sometimes frowned upon.

Yup, to bad O Bloom was the lead. Thewlis was on fire this year with KOH and The New World. Honestly Dr Moreau wasn't as bad as everyone thinks thanks again to Mr Thewlis. Just got done watching Naked again, proly the fourth time, first on blu and Wow, the film grows on me everytime with just terrific performances and it's by far the best the soundtrack has ever sounded. How he wasn't even nominated for a best actor let alone winning is beyond me.

honestly, unless people really recommend against it, I will buy it because it will be pretty easy to sell it on Amazon after the sale for what I paid if I don't enjoy it.

I love that feeling.
I know what your saying, Pale Flower is a film that touches of some profound topics. Without a doubt one of my favorite Criterion BD I own, but then I love just about everything Criterion puts out.

Speaking of blind buys, I watched A Christmas Tale again this week. When I first picked this up I was not that impressed. I have since made a rule for myself that any Criterion blind buy that I do not fall in love with on first viewing will be shelved for a month or two. After watching A Christmas Tale a second time I found the film to be much more interesting and enjoyable. (perhaps due to the fact that I could follow the many different characters) I have also had a similar experience with Fat Girl.

The Thin Red Line kicks ass.

For suggestions, I recommend Blow Out and Revanche; both very nice packages.

Fear and Loathing has the best set of supplements that I've seen from Criterion on blu-ray in my opinion.

I know it's only his second BD in the collection. It's really a personal incompatibility with most of the man's work. I truly liked maybe two or three of his films. And I think that in this particular case, it's just Antonioni for the sake of it.

The film is a minor one even amongst the diehards. La Notte has been crying for years to join the collection. I haven't seen the two Antonioni MoC's, maybe they're great, but man is he getting the royal treatment. But like I said, this is just one man's opinion. I don't mean to insult Antonioni enthusiasts.

Glad to see Dazed and Confused getting its proper release...also glad the news came out before the Universal release went on sale.

Any chance we will get Linklater's Suburbia from Criterion anytime soon?

Yep, that's the one. Bluray.com actually reviewed the Canadian Alliance release, but the film has not been released in any form in the U.S. I really hope including the review on MUBI is a sign that Criterion is planning on adding POLYTECHNIQUE to their collection.

And for those interested, here is the link to the review of the Canadian BD. Sounds phenomenal:

Kuroneko is a very interesting movie with great atmosphere. I was able to watch the 35mm print by Janus films awhile ago at a theatre in Vancouver. It looked fine to me and overall reccomend a watch if you are into an atmospheric horror film.
