Whoa... I just thought of something...

We could possibly see Hayden Christensen or Liam Neeson appearing as a jedi force ghost.

Considering JJ Abrams is on record as saying the PT got off track and forgot what made the OT great I doubt this. Hayden is widely knwn as a point of discontent in the fan community, and one of the main issues of the PT. Abrams isn't going to put him in the new trilogy. Also, notice no one in the media nor the internet has thrown his name around as returning.

I wonder if one can infer from Obama's "Jedi mind meld" gaffe that he has access to (and has been reading) a first draft script of Episode VII that tries to "meld" JJ's Star Multiverse. Maybe his exiting speechwriter is going to be an uncredited scriptwriting liaison. South Park DID suggest an Obama-Star Wars connection. What is Bob Woodward holding back? Is this how liberty dies?

How about Nicolas Cage as Han Solo and Princess Leia in the new Disney Star Wars?

No sweat. I have a dry, wordy wit. People close to me can't tell when I'm kidding either.

Oddly enough, everything in the post related to news being covered that day. Mash-up is about right.

For non-news hounds, this was the White House's official response to Obama's goof (note to mods and others: this is not intended to politicize the thread, just to laugh at Obama's nerdy but Bush-worthy Kerfuffle):

Of course, we can debate whether the White House's use of the Trek font but not the SW font indicates a bias.

We've heard word that Harrison Ford will return as Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, but that wouldn't be quite the same without his partner Princess Leia. There's good news, though — Carrie Fisher has revealed to Palm Beach Illustrated that she will indeed reprise the role of Luke Skywalker's sister. When asked what kind of role she envisaged the character playing in the new movie, Fisher said:

"Elderly. She's in an intergalactic old folks' home [laughs]. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle."
Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams and is pegged for a 2015 release, though that's not a certainty. With Fisher's revelation the latest indication of an original cast reunion, we'll be watching for news of a possible return for Mark Hamill — last month he expressed interest in the project to Entertainment Tonight

I love that she is the only one saying she is in this movie. Given recent reports of her acting intoxicated and blacking out, I would not be surprised if she made this up and has yet to sign anything. I'd wait for J.J., Kathleen Kennedy, or even George Lucas to confirm this.

Considering Lucas took both her and Hamill out to lunch before the initial announcements that the new trilogy was happening, and what to expect in them, I think it's safe to say that she, as well as Hamill and Ford, will be returning for at least 'Episode VII'.

I will bet my entire blu-ray collection, and both my testicles, that Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill will return for Episode VII. Beyond that is up to the story arc. JJ doesn't mind wiping out key planets (and god bless him, what a surprise!), so we'll see how he stands on key characters (and yes, I know he didn't write either script)!!!

Not exactly a risky bet considering both Fisher and Ford have already stated they're in and Hamill has indicated he's been in discussions.

That's why I threw the testicles in there. I'm not hoping to give them up any time soon!

This is my 1000th post, and I'm talking about my balls. Thank you everyone at blu-ray.com for so many interesting discussions, and I hope myself and my balls have been a valued contributor to these boards!
