Amazon and Disney+ I was speaking of. Lower/higher bandwidth made no difference after 10 seconds or less.

Before I was 5-7 mbps, now I am 20-23 mpbs.

No difference in quality to me.

Yeah, makes sense. The biggest difference I noticed was Apple, Disney and BBC IPlayer. BBC IPlayer didn’t even look HD before. Amazon bit rates are really poor imo.

So anyone who can make a new email can watch The Suicide Squad and whatever for a month?

Of all things someone didn't plan that well.

Good or bad, I'll wait for the disc.

The only one so far I really didn't want to wait for was Godzilla Vs Kong and I watched that for free on release day and waited for the disc to re-watch it.

I want to clarify my mbps from my provider was that.

Actually scratch that. I was looking at an old email. My mbps was confirmed on last test was 10 mbps on old service.

As for Apple I will never support them and just cancelled Disney + so yeah I made a dumb move.

It deserves to do well. Probably my favorite movie of the summer. I was expecting to laugh a little bit and see some eye candy but the story was surprisingly engaging as well. Overall much better than I was expecting and recommended to anyone willing to brave the theater.

Picked up the 3D version of GVK, haven’t watched yet. Like you, waiting for the 4K of SS.

Yeah 10 is fine for HD streaming for those services. I live alone so I always get the max from fibre.

You can only watch something the first time once.

Kind of sad to leave that to streaming knowing there's something better. If you worried about spoilers then yeah the online thing works in a pinch.

I do very well to avoid spoilers personally. Especially considering I buy discs in bulk mostly at end of year and end up a year behind most people.

To the majority, watching it once is all that is needed. And the majority don't care about quality. They want quanity at cheap prices. That's why streaming has become so popular.

You guys think streaming is just an age, physical media will stick around as always, see I just don't see how streaming could take over completely.

Imagine the bandwidth requirements for a four kid family, all streaming Disney+ or whatever on their 2160p phones, hell I even struggle with one stream, and that's compressed YouTube.

My internet is around $60 a month, unlimited mobile, don't have fibre, we're getting it next year, will be at similar cost so no-brainer to change, not however picking it up to get faster although it'll be faster, in it for reliability, mobile dipping like crazy.

I don’t believe that to be true. I think even amongst streamers, they like to watch content more than once. It’s just that they are not bothered about ownership.

I will always be into ownership. I can watch great films over and over.

This we can find common ground.

The good news is I still enjoy better quality and for now still know where to find it.

There are some types of programming that I really don't care much what the quality is because of the subject matter. For example I do subscribe to a youtube channel.

If streaming takes over or doesn't .... I have enough movies for every Friday night left of my life. So ... I'm kind of glad I got them while I could.

Just get um while you can. Thankfully it's still fun to collect them.

Same song, little different verse from the LaserDisc days:

“To the majority, watching it once is all that is needed. And the majority don't care about quality. They want quantity at cheap prices. That's why video cassette has become so popular.”

When people really wake up to how terrible high quality is,

I hope to find some good second hand bargains on gear.

The August/September issue of Sound & Vision has reviews of the Lyngdorf AVP and the SVS Mini subwoofer.
