Not saying I agree or disagree but I remember on each of my four times watching 70mm IMAX Interstellar (and also in the once digital IMAX) seeing the inconsistent exposure or brightness evenness on a lot of the IMAX shots. It even carried through on Blu-Ray (so it's not a theater thing). It's most noticeable on the blue sky corn fields when the camera is panning.
There's a lot more that can go wrong with film. That said, we need like 10K to surpass IMAX film resolution, but besides resolution, digital is better. (Flame retardant jacket on) |

The problems are there, in some bits they work better on screen (the reveal isn't different from what I've heard but it's not as silly as it seems on paper) and just a lot of minor natural changes like most films so stuff works better on screen, but the third act is still weak.

I've got tickets to see Spectre at 9:00 PM on Thursday, and at 11:15 AM on Friday. I always end up seeing the Bond films two or three times minimum at the theater, so I'm ripping off the Band-Aid right away for this one.
Dear Spectre, Please don't suck. Sincerely, The Great Owl |

Wish it was 100% shot digitally. To keep in style with 'Skyfall' and being again a Sam Mendes movie.
The look of the movie also depends how the camera lenses were set up. It's not that razor sharp. 'Spectre' isn't that colorful either. Lots of greys, brown and orange/yellow tints. |

Sitting worse off than QOS at the moment. Got to say went a second time to make sure it wasn't a knee jerk reaction after first viewing, but it wasn't. Still an Ok film but what a wasted opportunity to keep the Bond franchise on a high.

Saw it yesterday.I liked it well enough, but it had distinct weak points and boring parts.I really like the look of the movie, and thought the soundscape was also very good.Hear people here don't like the looks of this movie, but I loved that aspect of the movie. Was the movie shot on film?Think it'll look spectacular on BD if they don't screw it up massively.Kind of agree with some criticts about the villain being somewhat dull, but maybe that comes from the spectacular baddie in Skyfall. Is it me,or was
[Show spoiler] Also the minions in Spectre didn't come off as the brightest crayons in the box.All in all, enjoyable, but too long.4/5 |
