You haven't seen a proper lenticular until you see a BF one in hand. They will change your mind on how lenticulars can look.

The WWA cassette is a nice idea which I still think was carried out well but the BF steel is a thing of beauty. I'd jump on it now considering the GB was I think like $72 so not a big markup (yet).

Good point.

I just checked out the Thor Dark World lenticular from Blufans and wow. I might have to get that one first if i get any of the older Blufans releases off Ebay. Natalie portman on the cover trumps all. That gave me feels.

But daamn these things are expensive. 130 or so for Thor: Dark World.

200 or so for both Dark World and Guardians. :O I might need to check if i haven't lost my mind before proceeding on that.

The sane, sensible part of me says i could probably buy a big poster with a similar scene and hang it on my wall for cheaper. Which i would look at every day and just go with a cheaper Blu.

In my opinion, the absolute BEST Blufans lenticulars so far are Captain America First Avenger and Guardians of the Galaxy - Rocket & Groot. The 3D effect on the lenticulars are astonishing.

The thing that shocked me most about Captain America First Avenger is that his sheild and his crotch actually seem to protrude out from the background of the slipcover in a very noticable 3D effect. Stare at his crotch for a few minutes and you will be amazed at how it pokes out just like his shield does.

I can hardly wait to see the lentis for BH6, Godzilla and Gravity.

Yeah, they can be pricey after the GBs close. I've been really lucky after skipping a couple and managed a Thor 2 from Wreck at HDN and a Cap 1 from the BF GB leftover sale here at near original price the past couple of months.

Thor 2 you can probably find at ~100 or less if you look though they usually ship from China.

And I totally agree that that Cap: The First Avenger is one of the best lenticulars with the most depth to it out of the this first wave of Marvel releases.

Cool, cool. I'm very new to the whole steelbook world and use to just buy the cheapest version i could. So i'll take all this info in and see where i want to go with it all. I'm tired of my collection being ugly plastic basic versions that's why i'm looking into the steelbook scene. If i love the movie why not treat it right with a quality version i'm starting to think.

just bite the bullet and buy your first one....i used to be the same, i couldnt justify spending $100 on 1 film and at the time it seemed a ridiculous amount of money.....my first blufans was thor 1 from ebay for around $100 (i missed the group buy as i wasnt into blufans at that time)...once you see how amazing they look in person, you will understand why the price is alot. you will also want to own ALL of them lol

my tiny blufans marvel collection. they look awesome next to each other!

TV series are a waste of money IMO...lol
I borrow them from the library to save money.

Yeah, even more so with seeing all of the very high quality Asian and now Film Arena releases, I've even stopped buying most US/most EU steels holding out for the top of the line edition that I know will be coming out eventually (such as Mad Max: Fury Road and Avengers: Age of Ultron). It can definitely take a toll on your wallet but by being more picky with the releases you buy, it'll even out eventually.

DJ: your Blufans collection gave me a raging stiffie. It's phenomenal brotha!!!

The thrill and excitement of building a "collector's series" of product like your Blufans items will inspire new members like Explorer6. Personally, I am a w-h-o-r-e for lenticular packaging.

But a word of warning: collecting Blufans and other limited-edition series is as addictive as crack.

The next decision is: open them or keep them sealed? What is more enticing and priceworthy-- a virgin or an experienced (ripped open) madame?

Um, I'll take the virgin for $100, Alex! If anyone is gonna be the first to tear off the shrink wrap and fondle the disc it's gonna be me! LOL,

Very nice!!! Now that's a collection. Not like my ghetto ass plastic cases without even slips haha. That Ironman is sick, Thor 2, Captain America.. Not as big on the first Thor though as it needs more Natalie. To think Age of Ultron, Antman, Black Panther, Civil War, etc can be added to it eventually hehe.

Depends. I love, love, love, love TV series. The Blu-ray scene for TV series kind of sucks though. They stop production after a few seasons and a lot of them aren't even on Blu-ray, etc but oh well, i still love it. I even buy some old ass outdated DVDs for TV series still.

By the way, off topic but does anyone think they will ever do a Hunger Games box set? If they do something with Natalie Dormer featured somewhere in there i'm signing up right now. First one. Dibs.

perhaps you guys can answer this quicker than on the Blufans thread.

how is the actual viewing experience of the Blufans discs?

I've never watched an Asian press of a film before.

I know that some of the Canadian menu screens can be annoying (in my opinion) so I was wondering how the overall quality of the Blufans discs tends to be?

the artwork RULES but I'm trying to decide if I want to open and watch them...

Phenomenal! I already opened my Frozen Elsa Edition & Face Off (BluFans releases), the discs (or the menu) are just fine!
